Anyone REALLY lost naturalization certificate in the mail after passport?

N-565 (form) $555 is the fee. Requesting a fee waiver cause another dept lost it  will NOT work. You should definitely attempt to write to the Dept of State as instructed and request they start looking for the unreturned original…most likely.. lost / destroyed .Send a copy of your new passport and Natz Certificate..at least they will try and who knows miracles may happen…

I'm curious though, is the cost of a NC replacement $700+?? I thought it was $150 for New York area. Other than the NC paper can you help me and tell me what other documents they kept because I don't remember at all what I handed them, other than the NC original document.

 

The only original was the NC, everything else were copies made by the USPS employee. So we have to pay the DoS $150 to conduct a search on our file if it comes out empty handed we have to pay USCIS $550 for a replacement of the NC and it can take up to 10 months to get it.

This once great nation is starting to look more like the countries we tried to escape from for a better future. Truly a shame, everything is going downhill.

Received back the NC, what a relief!!! 36 day ordeal.  😑
