How long did they take to check the documents and issued the visa... I did my interview at Lagos embassy on the 17of December and I was asked to submit my wife recent tax transcripts and my original waec certificate which I submitted the following week.. Ever since the  have not heard back from the consulate and its going to two months now

I need to ask, please why asking for waec certificate , and what happens to those who have lost their original waec certificate but still has degree certificate. I am confuse with this embassy people

I believe they ask for these or something similar if you’re on the younger side to further prove your identity, we sent anything we could find just to show his name and area he grew up in, like his waec, jr waec, baptism certificate, church program certificate anything we could get

Yes! I understand tell your wife not to worry I’ve been feeling the same!!! It’s very difficult but your time is almost here! Mine said refused until he was asked to drop his passport again to dhl then the next day it said administrative processing and then when we got notified it was ready for pick up it said issued! So don’t worry it all seems hopeless then happens fast at once! I promise!

Hey they take forever to respond but it’s

LagosIV@state.gov put your case number in the subject line! I recommend calling or emailing your areas senators office that’s what I did to have assistance in getting faster responses from them! I’ve been doing that from the beginning well worth a try!

My husband had his interview on 01/12/2021. They asked for additional documents . We submitted them after a week. We haven’t heard back from the embassy. When I contact them what should I say ? That I’m checking on the visa status ?

I refused to accept this...there is no way, your original marriage certificate will not be returned to you immediately. If not ...you have every right to ask for the original marriage certificate to be returned cos apart from the embassy you need your marriage certificate

Who is supporting me on this.

You do realize that when they say "original" they are actually referring to certified copies.  No one has the original document of marriage certificates or birth certificates, they are kept at whatever office registered the documents.  It often becomes a pain to get new certified copies, but not impossible.  When we filed our marriage certificate, we paid for 12 certified copies as we knew we would need them for later USCIS filings.
