Hi! My 2 yr greencard is expiring in August and i am confused on what to do next. Got my permanent resident status thru marriage. I know people that got their 2 yr permanent residency thru marriage and for some reason they are "renewing" their greencard using the form i-90 which I thought isnt for permanent residents with a conditional status. (?) i know i have to apply for removal of conditional status but second guessing myself because others did it differently and got a letter that their biometrics will be scheduled. ( aparently the i90 went thru) Pls help. I need to apply for me and my daughter whom I brought with me as a k2. TIA

The people you know are not going to succeed if they have a conditional 2 year green card.  Do not follow their example as they are now out of legal status.  File an I-751 removal of conditions.  There's a helpful guide and lots of information on this forum.

Removal of Conditions I-751 is what you need to do. It says right on the I-90 webpage, "DO NOT FILE I-90 if you are a conditional resident." Tell your friends with conditional residency that they're going to end up in a bad mess if they file I-90 instead of I-751.
