I have that Rosetta Stone cd but I rarely use it. It was fun at first but now it's hard and so I gave up. :( I guess if I were that motivated it would be great 'cause you can record your voice and hear how similar/dissimilar it is to what it's supposed to be. Thing is even when I get some of the words down my husband can't understand me 'cause of my Boston accent.

On the flip side he's learned some lingo from me and it cracks me up when he says things like, "okie-dokie", or "wicked pissa".:lol:

lol... pissa... thats SO late eighties/ early 90's

I DIE laughing when my husband says "Whatever" I cracks ME up

I'm taking a short class right now at my local community class. It's introduction to Arabic. It's unfortunate that it's only 5 classes, as he's having to really rush us through everything.

We just had our 3rd class. I know the alphabet, at least using the letters by themselves. There are a few that I don't have memorized in all their positions in a word.

We started learning how to conjugate verbs in our second class. Past tense. This last class we went over Present tense and Future tense. Also posessives and some nouns.

My head was spinning after class but insha'allah with some studying (which I need to try to do for at least an hour a day), I will be able to get it all straight in my head.

The biggest tip I can give to anyone who is seriously trying to learn, is to study the language every single day, for a minimum of time (maybe half hour at least). The more you work with it and the more you are seeing it and reading it and speaking it, the easier it will be.

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5
