Please is there anyone that was given a form to provide a joint sponsor and a recent tax record?

please I would like to know what am to submit to the GSS document collection center in Lagos state,Nigeria.

Am I to submit either the W2 form or Transcript or strictly the transcript.
I think submitting the transcript might take almost or over a month since the Tax filing begins this week.

please I need urgent clarification from anyone who has been in this before, thank you!

Did you not provide the 2019 tax returns or transcript?  Or did they explicitly require you to submit the 2020 returns/transcript?  Normally, the 2020 tax documents would not be required until after April 15th.

On the day of the interview, I was given a printed form which indicated that I should submit a joint sponsor and a recent tax record.
as for the joint sponsor form, that’s already filled out.
This recent tax record is what am battling with. Trying to know if it’s simply a transcript or just W-2 form that I should send out to the document office.

It all came out that my little one was born on the very morning of my interview in the states. And I was asked if I had a child by my wife and I said yes...and they asked me where’s her birth certificate and I told them my daughter just got delivered at 11:35PM in the states and 4:35AM in Nigeria that morning.
That was where he took a pause and  and gave me that print paper and asked me to provide the document ticked.

Joint sponsor is most often required when a principal sponsor is not Having sufficient income to cover the number of people on the tax. So that’s it.

Your tax return transcript, like a 1040 will show your actual adjusted gross income(AGI), which what's needed to determine your income on the affidavit.  Your W-2 won't show that.  As noted above, the 2020 tax season hasn't finished yet, so your 2019 tax record will be your most recent.

More specific  now just 2019 like others say but the following covers both ways to do it

if you submit copy of the 1040 , u also need the W2 (and helps to have a letter from employer saying the job is ongoing )

other way is she gets IRS tax transcripts which are several pages long (and even the blank ones are submitted

Yes you can use W2 if the tax transcript is not ready. They both serve the same purposes. I was in a similar situation, I used W2 and it was approved. They just requested for my passport for visa to be printed. If you check uscis website, it say either tax transcript or w2.
