Did your spouse claim you on 2019 tax returns as you married in that year?

or will spouse claim you on 2020 returns?

No she wasn’t in US in 2019 and didn’t make a living. But will file 2020 taxes married filing jointly.

Are you the immigrant or the spouse?  You have said "I" and "she".......

Yes we were married in 2019. So does that mean it’s possible to receive a check after doing that?

I am the immigrant. I was thinking if I should have been filed taxes to get a stimulus check.

File taxes and let the IRS sort it out.  If you’re eligible, you’ll get it.  All of the online tax services (e-file) automatically calculate it

You don't need to amend taxes to receive the stimulus (assuming your spouse filed married separately).

Since you were a PR at the end of 2020, you're considered a resident Alien for tax purpose, therefore you qualify for the stimulus.

When you file 2020 taxes (you will need your SSN) there's a place to ask for it.
