The hot water taps, having both been left open as they say you are meant to do, came on with a hiss and a roar yesterday. Not hot water though, just slightly warmer than the cold taps, those have run since the start. My thinking was, well it has been very cold, it will take time to heat.

It's been 24 hours, and no joy, I have checked all I can, done what I could. I have called a plumber, and in is opinion it is most likely the element(s). He can come and fix it for me,  but cannot get here until Saturday morning. Not just because the place is busy, they are in fact not sending anyone out at all until the roads improve.

 

I am ok with that. Not seen anything on the road out in front since Monday. The power has stayed on the entire time, and I can heat water in the interim.  Just tired of it all.

Miu roused herself and sat on our lap during entire evening news, warm fluffy miu man.

We are still keeping a flashlight in our pocket, don't trust the power authorities we man.

In the meantime, we did a little casa-cleaning, long past time for that man.

Office floor almost walkable, and bedroom floor decluttered, domestic we man.

Did all of same while dressed like an Eskimo or native of Gdansk, North Pole we man.

Neighbor removed everything from his fridge and put it on back patio, colder out there man.

For din-din #1, we ate Many (2+2) semiturgid ice-cream bars* in freezer, just in time man.

For din-din #2 post-power, we nuked 2 ancient burritos* in freezer, long past time man.

       *did not upset stomach, no man

The very few other items in freezer, none of which were crucial, have met their maker, toss out we man.

 

More than Many,000 ([2x2x2+1],000) area residents still Powerless, miserable they man.

Supermarkets (already mobbed with lines stretching around the stores) will be busy with people replacing spoiled stuff, sigh man.

We wonder how many non-generator-supported stores lost their own frozen/refridged stuff, sigh man.

 

In one week, high temps to return to the Manys ([2+2+2+1]0s), Texas weather again Many man.

First thing, Ex-Mrs.-T-B. asked if we had brought any "cans" for our din-din, canned reply man.

Because we had not, Ex-Mrs.-T-B. served us a din-din that upset our stomach, so what else is new man.

Then, it was too hot, toss/turn we man.

Then, power went out, too dark man.

Then, no water pressure, how dry we am man.

 

We said that we were firmly dissatisfied with the Ex-Mrs.-T-B. Hotel and would give it a 1 or a 0 rating on TripAdvisor, express we man.

We just noticed that only OUR side of the street has power, what a shame man.

Even more mystifying is that the other side historically tends to be restored first, mystery man.
