🐓Chicken update .. remaining hen who survived the racoons 🦡🦡 is much more settled thankfully. Now laying regularly 🥚and back to eating out of my hand. Nice to have  her back. 🐣New chickies are loud and boisterous and very healthy 🐥! Other wildlife  news ..   we have been delighted this summer to be able to  watch momma deer and her two growing fawns grazing often just near the house. Saw today that they have been delighted to be able to eat every  bit of green 🍃off the strawberry 🍓plants  😳.  Fair trade methinks !!

note to self .. lock the chicken coop at night AND don't take the netting off the vegie garden until the plants have died back. Ah well .. the learning continues !

Yay, I'm happy she is doing so much better.

My chicken update- daughter sold four more hens we are now officially under 30 chickens.

Doggie update, I have a pregnant dachshund can't wait for puppies.

My 4 year old lab has some kind of infection below the ear on the neck area. Need to take him in probably in the morning. I called the vets tonight just before closing to have the vet call me. They didn't get back to me tonight. My poor boy is not feeling well and hides in his room to be left alone.

Did I mention this crazy lady got another lab puppy. She's 4 months old now. I'm starting to believe my son who said I love chaos.

Littles update they are growing like weeds cannot believe they are 7 and 10.

Enjoy each day..says she as she sits in urgent care having pierced her ankle in 3 places on exposed galvinised chicken fencing. Guess the arm is going to get a tetanus shot today 😳

Thanks they are going to squeeze Jack in sometime this afternoon. I dropped him off and they will check him out between patients. This morning not only did he get sick again one of the doxies did twice too. Hoping that was just a fluke.

Time sure does fly, I don't know when these big kids of mine decided it was ok to grow up. One already married too. The nerve of them.

Gosh you sound like me. I hope your ankle and arm survive and it doesn't take too long to recover.

Well Jack is a very hurting boy. His gastric system is not happy at all. Lots of pain, dehydrated and his face heck they couldn't get near it to get a good look. She didn't want to sedate him because treatment would be the same. The patch of raw skin below his ear is probably from him scratching at an ear infection. She can't know 100% since he would not let her touch his head. Her priority was to get his stomach and such settled. Gave me a pile of meds for his tummy issues and spray for his face/neck and ear. It will kill everything. I need to drown his ear in it and spray his face. He's already not happy with that bottle. $430 later and we are not done yet. He also shows a large prostate and is scheduled for surgery on the 21st. $550 more bucks for that. So not happy right now as he was in my breeding program.

Baxter being sick is probably a coincidence.

Jackalope update :)

He's eating the chicken like only a lab would. I boiled the chicken and using the water from it to get him to drink more. It worked wonderfully. We are up to 7 cups of water for today. The vet wanted at least 6 and no vomiting, he does not look like he is in as much pain as yesterday.  Was not happy that I wanted to spray his face and ear and was not having it. Took two of us to corner him and get his face. I managed to get a some in his ear. Not as much to flood his ear like the Vet wanted but hopefully it was enough.

Baxter update He's fine, I spent money probably for nothing on him. Oh well better safe than sorry.

Oh and sold 6 Polish top hat chicks

Missing my husband. :( I have nearly another 2 weeks to go until I see him, and it sucks because I keep seeing pics of him having fun with our friends over there, visiting members of his family whom I love too, etc. There was a rooftop party for him the other evening which looked like a ton of fun. I have been told that his ex-girlfriend was, however, flirting outrageously with him, getting handsy, etc. which I am not thrilled about for obvious reasons. But since her boyfriend was there I have been told to calm down, I'm making too much of it, and so on.

Meanwhile I'm living the sixty-something lifestyle with my parents. 😕 I was in bed by 8:30pm last night.
