Oh, and we got ourselves exempted from a jury-duty summons, deftly proficient we man.

 

We ignored the usual categories, added a new one, and checked it off, see man:

   "World's preeminent POTS Business Typhoon is too busy & can't be part of a 'jury of peers' because no one is his peer, si and no man."

 

The docket-coordinatrix accepted our reasoning, abjectly apologized, and ordered herself a POTS, forgiven she man.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

And how did you do that?? I had to get older daughter exempt earlier this year.

Today is my stepdaughter's 8th birthday, the second one in a row my husband hasn't been able to be there for. :( We had been hoping she could be out here for her birthday this year, but, well, COVID. We did a birthday Zoom early this morning so we could see her open presents and have some cake with us virtually (yes, I ate a cupcake for breakfast, no regrets!). Just... hard. She misses her dad so much and she's seen him once since early March 2020. On top of it all, her mother is getting remarried soon, and they are relocating from the countryside to London so they can live with her mom's fiancé. So new school in September and all that involves, coupled with the reports we're getting back of "you're not my real daddy!" directed to her mom's fiancé (I have known him for some time, and he's a thoroughly lovely person), and minor meltdowns about leaving behind all her friends and... and... and... UGH. So Alex (my husband) is flying to the UK in about a month to get her settled, meet the head teacher on the first day, etc. The timing couldn't be worse -- I have not been working since December 2019, and I literally just started a job on Monday, so I am not able to go. 

 

Also, I do not know why my stepdaughter needed a Gucci tote bag for her birthday, but that's what her mom said. 🙄 Alex has a terminal case of guilt in moving here, so he bought it for her. Not gonna lie, it's super cute, but that thing is going to be stained in a matter of days.

That sucks so much that he missed it again. 

So much happening in her life it's hard being so far away too. I'm glad Alex is able to go see her and help her get settled. 

Yay for new job but yes terrible timing at the same time :( 

 

At 8 it could be her wanting Gucci depending on her friends and if she watches Youtube. My 10 yr has been banned from youtube for a few years now. Except for when I'm doing certain lessons.  You're right it will be ruined fast, lost or stolen.

I hadn't thought about YouTube -- it's very possible she's seen some fashion videos. Also her mum is kind of a label queen. Not as bad as the mothers on Yummy Mummies (do NOT watch this show if you haven't already -- I definitely felt like I destroyed brain cells watching it), but she does have expensive tastes which she may be passing on.

Spent most of day quality-controlling a special-order motorized Pre-Owned Toilet Seat, supervise we man.

Its success will open up entire markets such as rehab hospitals, $i man.

Proprietary product, so no fotos, don't even think of asking man.

 

Din-din was Many (2+2) hot dogs, ingest before the buns went bad we man.

Got in postprandial nap, zzz we man; awakened by miu-on-stomach, Daddy come play man.

We obviously have no self-control and don't want any, party-animal we man.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Non of them, they are egg layers so not much meat. Plus by the time they are spent too old and touch to bother.

Yes my daughter was watching some pretty simple things like Super Cooper and then on to this brother sister stuff. Well it became one of these. I saw this on so and so and they said. I got tired of it real fast. 

If mom is like that I'm sure she had something to do with it. If not directly,  indirectly kids pick up fast.

THe little ones are polish chicks, waiting to see if boys or girls. Mommy is in the background watching over her babies. 

 

The first picture of the big girl checking out the phone is Calypso, she's 4 and one of our oldest hens. We lost Scarlet this morning 😢 She was one originals and the head hen.
