Just came here with a sad update. 
We lost our 14 year old dog “Blue” this Wednesday and words can’t describe how devastated I feel. Yes, he was old, and yes, I know that dogs pass away but that doesn’t make it any easier. 
He was a pitbull. Zach rescued him when he was six months old and he was malnourished and full of worms. He thought he wasn’t going to make it. But he took him to the vet, did everything he could to save him and he did. I met him when he was eight years old and immediately fell in love with him. We gave him the best life we could and we loved him with our life. 
Last year we got our Chloe, a golden doodle. And this year we added another puppy. His name is Cocha and he’s a dogo argentino. They loved Blue dearly too. 
Blue made us a very happy family and I hope he felt loved and happy with us. We miss him terribly.

Thank you. It never gets easy no matter how many dogs you’ve lost. 
Blue was the dog that taught me that pitbulls are one of the best breeds -it’s all in how you raise them. He lived with my in laws for a while when Zach couldn’t find an apartment where they’d accept him -I know, stupid. My in laws live in a very small, rural town, and Blue went with them everywhere. He was an integral part of our family and that’s why we’re heartbroken. We work all day and at night he’d stay up with me in the couch, that’s why nights are the hardest right now. Thankfully we have the other puppies to get us through.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Friday GS/ES report, see man:

 

We itineraried 2 GSs and Many (2+2+1) ESs, none allopatric to us, no man.

In fact, the nearest was Many (2x2x2x2x2 + 2x2x2 +1) miles away, oh well man.

        partial box snack-bags = $2, steal man

  -- Manycans ([toucans x toucans x toucans] + toucans + onecan) vegetables, plastic toolbox

  -- partial roll wax paper = half a buck, deal man

  -- nightpants for Mini-B. = free, heavenly man

  -- book of Many0Many Texas Aggie jokes = free, heavenly man

Total = $Many-&-a-half ($2x2x2 - half a buck)
