Thrilling Monday report, see man:

 

Today is JuneMany'th, so no work other than supervising the cascades of POTS orders, $i man.

 

It will be Many00 degrees every day this week, hasn't rained in a month man.

Probably better water lawn & casa foundation, courting problems man.

 

Retrieved Mini-B. for visit with Mama T-B., we take wee to senior she man.

Of course, Mini-B. not ready, good thing we called him ahead man.

Delivered groceries and south-Texas newspapers to Mama T-B., plethora man.

Got lectures on only Many -- yes, only Many -- topics by Mama T-B., wired senior she man.

 

Fruitlessly searched for grape Powerade Zero, all other flavors worthless man.

Attended ES, q.v. man.

 

Lunch was one of the BOGO Subway sandwiches, bought WUOC financially savvy we man.

Napped for >1 hour, zzz we man.

 

Din-din was the other of the BOGO Subway sandwiches, bought WUOC financially savvy we man.

It was soggy but free and filling, last two items always key criteria man.

Considering another nap, double-dip we man.

Yet another wild party with the rubias tonight, central figure therein we man.

My mom is primarily Irish-American. The lecture gene is strong in that pool too. I got a lecture this afternoon because I did not visit my dad for father's day yesterday -- at his request -- but only called him. He said he was feeling kind of tired and that a phone call was good enough, so this is what I did. But apparently this was insufficient, as my sister and her family showed up yesterday at my mom's insistence. What I can gather from my dad today is that most of this visit involved my sister and my mother performing low-level passive-aggressive commentary on each other, and very little actual dad appreciation, of either my dad or my brother-in-law. But, you know, I was neglectful so 🤷‍♀️

 

Can I add that I work for my dad and got to see him today, like I do almost every single day of the work week? He and I sometimes feel like we wandered into someone else's family.

Speaking of moms and whatnot. Hubby and I are going to Argentina for a couple days in the next few weeks. And we decided to rent an apartment close to my parents’ home. 
My mom is getting things ready for us, like laundry detergent, and some groceries. She asked what she should get us for breakfast. 
She has this idea that breakfasts in the US are very unhealthy. Well, she fed me high sugar cookies all my life for breakfast. I do keto; which is basically high in fats and proteins but low on carbs. So lots of eggs, butter, low sodium bacon, avocado, for breakfast.

Today she asked me for the list of groceries for breakfast. She even said “let me know if I should get you cookies and jam!!” When I have been telling her over and over that that is just processed (removed). So when I told her about my grocery list I could almost imagine her saying something along the lines of cholesterol and my artheries. She always pulls that one up. I haven’t seen her in four years, but she doesn’t change.

Then when I asked her what she wanted me to take her, she said “well, when you made a video tour of the house I saw your shower Mat and it really looked non- slip, so get me one of those”. So thank you, Mainstay and Walmart, for making very heavy shower mats. My luggage and my $$ appreciate it.

 

OF ALL THE THINGS SHE COULD ASK, SHE ASKED FOR A SHOWER MAT.

Mrs. T-B.'s relatives all wanted regular bathmats, scarce man.  We would always bring a copious supply of bath linens there, and the donations were always appreciated, si man.  Bed linens, too, when luggage would accommodate them, rarely man.

 

Amazing how thin and inadequate "native" Ecu bath linens were/are, mystery man.

It makes me sad because I’m thinking of how terrible the situation must be down in Argentina that they have to ask me for a bath mat.

To be honest, I’m sort of afraid to go and see how it has changed for the worse in six years

It may simply be that the optimal product isn't readily available or is beastly expensive, si R ma'am.  Or, they're taking advantage of a willing offer to bring something, si R ma'am.

We do Carnivore. I tried Keto years ago and it just didn't work for me. I hate hate vegetables and at the time everything wanted me to eat this gross stuff.

The Hillbilly is no longer type 2 diabetic  His A1C is now 5.3 can't wait to see it at his next appointment. We feel better and just recently I notice my hair feels so much more silky, my reflux and heartburn gone, my aches and pains from the weather changing almost completely gone. 

We have heard a few of the same worries about all that fat going to your heart, what about your vitamin C or well anyone would lose weight as it lacks nutrients🙄. Nope meat is the only true nutrient dense food and has everything you need. Minus Salt. WE do not see ourselves going back to the SADdest diet ever!

We eat an anti-inflammatory diet, due to my various conditions (eczema, rosacea). It has been life-changing since we started -- so much more energy throughout the day, less itch, less red, less... gas (NOT MY PROBLEM I want to add). I had a few pounds I wanted to lose and they went away and have stayed away without changing anything about my exercise. He mostly keeps to it too, as there's plenty of lean protein along with the vegetables. And we both happen to love roasted veggies, which makes things easier. I stick to it on an 80/20 basis, so 20% of the time I have whatever I feel like. The important thing, I think, is finding the protocol that works for YOU, not what other people tell you to do without knowing your body as you do.
