I remember when my daughter was born (Sept of 1985...LOL) after 36 hours of labor.  I was there for the first 30 plus hours and was dead tired.  Nurse sent me home saying I needed to get some sleep and it was still going to be a while.  I walked home as we only lived 2 blocks from the hospital and picked up the Sunday paper along the way.  Fell asleep face down on the floor reading the paper and woke up with the phone ringing.  It was the nurse telling me to get here quick as we were having a baby.  Made my way quickly to the hospital only to wait some more as the doctor wasn't ready.

The little one was jaundice and had to spend a few extra days in the hospital, but after 2 days they sent my ex-wife home.  She was feeling very good and had been walking the floor in the hospital.  She was feeling so good and decided she would walk home.  Nurse said NO ONE has ever walked home from the hospital after giving birth.  We explained we only lived 2 blocks away.  (Medical school, dental school, a couple of hospitals, and med-dent housing are all gathered close together in downtown Louisville)  Looking back it was a poor decision.  Started out OK but after the first block things started to go down hill.  Slower and slower.  By the time we got home the ex-wife said that it felt like her insides were dropping out...

When the second one was born, we used the car to go the 2 blocks.

With all of my kids I had never made it to my due date, well except one #4. So I had a doctors appointment that date and was determined that I was not going another day. So I walked, it was a 7 mile walk and it kicked me into labour. The doctor gave me the option to go home for a bit but went out to tell my ex that in no way shape or form I was to walk back home. This doctor delivered the other 3 and new how fast things change for me. So I took the bus home, the bus driver wanted to call an ambulance to come get me. I made it home got things ready and then went to the hospital later that night. It was pretty mild labour and I knew my body.

The last two the Hillbilly drove to the hospital. We actually went to Little Rock about 3o mins from the house in traffic.

All of my babies got jaundice, it's because of me at risk for it too I think it was because of my father having it in his 20's.  Three stayed in the hospital the older 2 for a week each, then the Tornado for just a few days longer. The other ones I had to place in a bright window and the mister #4 mentioned above I also needed a lamp on him. It drove me nuts each time.

Both my kids were jaundice.  First one stayed in the hospital, but I don't remember how long.  Talked with my friends in med school and learned about putting them near a bright window.  When the second was born and jaundice we took him home and did the window trick.  It worked.

It is interesting how well the window worked and totally makes sense why.

It has been A Day. I got up early to go do a half day, then came home to find Alex had a bad day trading. So his attitude was about as expected. I'd asked him to fix the shattered screen on my phone, but we didn't get around to it today, about 3 hours before we had to get to the airport. YouTube said "easy fix!"... and it was not. He broke my phone! 😭

So after I melted down and he swore at himself repeatedly for cocking it all up, we got in the car and sped to Best Buy. Nearly a grand later (😭) I have a new phone.

Airport was irritating. I have Clear, so I should speed through TSA, but I got randomly selected for a check, as did he. Then the pulled my carryon for screening and asked me questions about the contents. They swabbed my facial wipes, who knows what that was about. Then it was 76 quintillion degrees F in departures. And wifi was a no go on all my devices but my new phone so... Sigh.

Over Albuquerque at the moment, 4 hours to go.

Thrilling Friday graduation report, see man:

Arose at o'dark-Many to get to Cousin Mini-B.'s hyskool graduation, dedicated we man.

Left on time, amazing man.

Hit two gridlocks, good grief man.

A Many-minute trip took over an hour, loss of probably a Manyzen minutes man.

Only one parking-machine for an entire surface lot, LONG line man.

Got up there and found that the usual $Many ($2+2+1) charge was $Many ($2x2x2x2x2 + 2x2x2x2 +2+2), "special event" grrrrrrr man.

Rather easily found Ex-Mrs.-T-B., Mini-B., the Outlaws, and the Rojo, entire gaggle man.

Doors didn't open on time, no one could figure out how ceremony could ever be completed on time man.

However, ceremony whipped right through, down to a science man.

All Many00 stoodents introduced and diploma'd, quite amazing man.

Cousin Mini-B. graduated Magma Claude, quite impressive at this good hyskool man.

Took Mini-B. to lunch at famous Mexican restaurant 2 miles away, enjoy we and wee man.

Returned Mini-B. to ex-Mrs.-T-B.'s casa and napped for 2 hours, dead we man.

Attended graduation party at ex-Mrs.-T-B.'s casa later, impressive affair man.

We stayed for Many-&-a-half (2+2 + a half) -- yes, Many-&-a-half (2+2 + a half) -- hours, uncharacteristic man.

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. had her youngest sister + husband + toddler there, great to see them man.

Ex-Mrs.-T-B. also invited a couple of other mutual friends, great to see them man.

We got to give our speech (all in highly practiced Spanish) not only for the group, but for Mama-Cousin-Mini-B., stuck in Ecu she man.

It was the perfect imitation of a TV announcement of a telenovela finale, soap opera man.

We got applause from the natives both times, worked well man.

And Cousin Mini-B. enjoyed it, good taste not just in his mouth wee man.

We ate Many (2+1) huge roast-chicken pieces cooked by the Rojo, grill he man.

It was quite a big day for Cousin Mini-B., a fun day for us, and a rebonding with our ex-family, we still love them man.

We got the suitcase in anticipation that the Outlaws would need it to take all their purchases back to Ecu, intuit we man.

And sure enough, when we told ex-Mrs.-T-B., she said, "Siiiii -- we want it," si man.

We forgot to mention in Friday's report that we actually participated in kickball soccer in ex-Mrs.-T-B.'s back yard, participate we man.

(Ex-Mrs.-T-B. set up a soccer goal for Mini-B. & Cousin Mini-B., by request man.)

We are proud to report that we scored Many (2+2+2) -- yes, Many (2+2+2) free-kick goals against Cousin Mini-B., ha ha man.

We faked him out by pretending to aim at one end of the goal but kicking it at the other, hee hee man.

And, every successful time, we shouted, "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!," shout we man.

Thrilling (?) Monday report, see man:

Din-din was 2 Hungry Man meatloaf din-dins, ingest Two Guys man.

Movie night was The Shaggy Dog, far more boring than we remembered originally man.

Only Many (2+2) -- yes, only Many (2+2) -- bowls of Costco popcorn ingested, wimpy Two Guys man.

SWAT team poised outside is getting bored, no wild parties with the rubias today man.
