We constantly have to check to make sure that it is off because our dials are really loose. For example the wife and I came home from being out part of the day while our two older kids were home. As soon as we got into the house I smelled something funny and asked them what was that smell and they said they didnt' know. We found out that one of the dials for the stove was turn on and emitting gas but luckily it didn't seem like it was on for long. So we turned it off and opened up the house were good to go.

My situation is a little different.

I need a "Dementia" feature in a stove, an "Elderly" stove.

I don't think they make such a stove.

But they do make other devices.

I can only find 1 stove with a Thermocouple safety device.

It turns off the gas supply when it senses that there is no flame when the gas is on.

But it's 3 grand...

Thrilling Friday report, see man:

We then went to at least Manyzen stores trying to find a bread loaf, none to be found man.

We presume that the markets will be restocked tomorrow, recovering from freeze man.

Won't need bread till Sunday eve when making Mini-B.'s skool lunch, still like to have on hand man.

Presuming flour and yeast out of stock also?

Though homemade bread doesn't keep very long unless frozen (perhaps not a problem in Texas right now, man?); no preservatives.

And without a bread machine (or at least a stand mixer with a dough hook) making bread takes a bit of effort.

That is good news. Hopefully the water bill wont be too bad.

It will be huge. I know this because they rang me this morning, wanting to  know if I was aware of my usage. Was there a problem? I have used more than 7 times the amount I usually go through. I told them I thought for sure the meter reading would be right. I ran water at night for 6 days, and then the burst pipe was spewing away for at least four days before the plumber could get here.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Next time buy many more products and put them in your freeze. That way you'll always have bread products at home ;)

And then they would get ruined or soggy when they thawed, oj tak.

And Real Men do not keep bread products in their freezers, oj nie.

We, instead, keep self-killed, field-dressed buffalo steaks, etc., in there, Real Men we man.

When we've eaten the above, we go hunting for Salisbury steaks, even more thrilling man.

Texas Mens' freezers Many, other freezers zero, oj tak.

If it were manufactured in Poland, it would read Many, precisely accurate or wildly off Eh ma'am.

Then, you could argue with the utility co. about the payment of $Many, great or zero argument ma'am.

Anyone know of a gas range with an automatic  "flameout" shutoff? That shuts the gas off when it senses there's no flame?

My (step) mother is going to blow up her apartment soon......

My stove will not allow the gas to be turned on if there is no flame ignition or there is a power outage. However, I'm not sure what would happen if it went out during cooking.

Thanks Trophie, but you totally lost me...

How can there be the presence of flame if there is no gas to begin with?

What I need is what they call a flameout sensor or a thermocouple, that physically shuts off the gas supply after a minute of the absence of a flame.

The guy at the appliance store told me he only knows of that 1.

But anyway, I ordered a Samsung. I think it's somewhat like the whirlpool you showed me.

But now they have airfry as well.

I don't care, it's not for my kitchen.

I would have bought that Bertazoni just for the thermocouple, except...

I need  WiFi connectivity to monitor the range status.

Apparently, no european ranges feature that.

So, Samsung it is...
