Hello,

Sorry if repeated topic but couldn't find  the answer. After filing the petition I 130 for my spouse I realised that I could use a closer  U.S. consulate that will process immigrant visa.We live in Northern Ireland and I think Dublin should be the Embassy to do it but I put London.

Can I change that and how?

Thank you.

You can only interview at the consulate that has jurisdiction over your residence or nationality.   In your situation,  that is Dublin and only Dublin.

NVC will automatically correct any error you may have made

She lives in Northern Ireland, which is in the UK. She will interview in London.

You can only have an interview in Dublin if you live in the Republic. You live in the UK so yours will be in London. I understand that Dublin is closer geographically but that’s not how it works, unfortunately.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!
