Hi:

So I can see from Fedex that my I-129F app was received this past Wednesday, but I have not received an email as requested on the form G-1145 that I included with the app.  Anyone know how long it generally takes from the lockbox facility signing for the "package" to getting an email?

Thanks!

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Also note that even before covid, it wasn't uncommon to not get emails even if you signed up for them.

We mailed our petition in February 2020 and heard back about two weeks later. We never even got an email even though we requested it, but they did text us to notify that they received it. Processing seems to be taking significantly longer now, and people are waiting a couple months for those notifications.

Are you saying that it takes the lock-box center several months to scan the petition and send it to the USCIS processing facility, or just that it takes months for them to email you?

There should be a February 2021 1-129F filers. You should ask @Greenbaum
Also the process is so slow. The delay from USCIS is 6-8 weeks. November filers are just starting to receive there First receipt. I sent mine in January and I’m not looking forward to a receipt until March/ April. The good thing is that it appears they are using the date they received your petition when they send you the NOA-1.

Hi Jonathan, I mailed my app on November 7, 2020 and on February 4, 2021 received a text with the receipt number saying that the Receipt Notice is in the mail.

So this means that the processing time is now extended by several months just for them to scan the documents and send it to USCIS- in other words I won't get to the first 'checkpoint" on the timeline for months due to this?

Yes. I suggest keeping tabs on the November, December, and January threads to see where you stand in line. The most recent batch of NOA1s were packages received around Nov 7.

Mine was received Nov 11, and we're still waiting; hopefully we'll get it this week. Just settle in and be prepared to be patient. This is just the start of a whole lot of waiting the immigration process will entail.
