Hey Guys,

I called the National Customer Service Center to ask about our case. I know that it was approved at VSC on 1/31/06 and I just wanted to see what the next step was. Well, the customer service person told me that the K1 would not go through NVC anymore. It would go straight to the consulate/embassy!! Customer service gave me this info without them knowing my VSC receipt number. It sounded like customer service just input the question into the computer and it spit out an answer that they read to me over the phone. I didn't question the service person any further but I'm going to call back and see if I get any different info. I only asked because 3 years ago when the same beneficiary and I got to this same level, our case stayed at NVC for 67 days.

Anybody know anything about this?? I'm going to call them back now. WOW, I'm really getting excited now!!

People,

I don't know if it is true but I just received the same answer from a different person!! I was told that the I-129f's no longer go through NVC, they go straight to the consulate/embassy. I asked the service person if they go through NVC strictly for transport and they replied no. I don't know what to make of this!! Again, my VSC receipt number was not given. I see many of you guys petitions going through NVC. Could 2 service persons be wrong?? Also, this second service person did not use the computer to reply to my question. She seemed to know what she was talking about.

I don't know what to make of it. I'm going to wait until I receive the actual NOA2 in the mail and fax the US interest section in Havana asking them to allow my fiance to pick-up his pkt in person. We will see what happens, good luck to all!!

How'd you mean 'more work to CSC'?

If they ARE going direct to embassies as opposed to the NVC for clearing then thats just a different address they go to - not really 'more work'..maybe Im misunderstanding what you mean there....

Guys,

I'm calling the NVC now...I just hung up with a representative named Jane. She assured me that the case would come to NVC first. It will be assigned a NVC number which for Havana will begin with HAV, of course. It will stay there until security clearance is complete, anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks. She assured me it will be forwarded to the respective consulate/embassy in the usual manner as you all are experiencing. Well, I thought they had started something new. So I guess I just need to pray to Jehova that we clear the security clearance within the 1 to 4 weeks as I know it could take a bit longer, but I hope not. Sorry for the misunderstanding guys.

Hey JB more work meant that the NVC had been tasked among other things to run security checks for the K-1's I'm thinking that the CSC now has that task....the embassy has been doing them for years anyway so I don't think it's them who will pick up the work that NVC had.

Security checks are already done at CSC...as with all the service centers. Then again at NVC.....then again at embassy.

I think we need a couple more security check point. If they would do it correctly maybe we would not need everybody doing security checks.
