Dear All,

My application was DQ in late July 2020, a foreign police certificate was sent to the consulate in about Nov 2020.

It seems to me that my file is still with NVC as of today.

I understood that the pandemic has changed lots of things, and it will takes longer for the file to be processed.

I would like to hear if you have something to share about your career decision while waiting for the interview date interim. I found that it is getting harder for me to make decisions as the interview date is uncertain, not sure it will be another few months to wait or even a year. When opportunity comes up here in Canada, I am becoming uncertain if I should take it or not as many offen I will need to make a commitment for at least one year.

Would like to hear your experiences.

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Canada
Timeline

My case reached NVC in April. I had applied for unemployment right as the pandemic started in March. Because I was in a placement program, I ended up taking whatever job they found for me since participating in that program gave me a steady income biweekly. I told myself I could be out of the country at any moment, but I've stuck with the job just because it was the only way I could visit my fiance and show that I'm returning to Canada. Now that I've received P3 and my case is underway in Montreal, I'm really hoping for a P4 with interview date within a couple weeks. I'm definitely on my way to resignation since I'm so close to an interview date and I will need to quarantine etc. to travel and do the medical.

If your case isn't in Montreal yet, you have time to get a job for ~6 months. I've been hemorrhaging money ever since I started waiting on this visa, so I needed to take a job.
