Hello I am projecting ahead and hoping it won’t happen but I see we are supposed to have another snowstorm next Monday which is when N400 interview is. USCIS lists their closings on the below page but I’m wondering how would they go about rescheduling the interview? Has anyone had experience with this- is it usually within 2 weeks, a month, etc? Will your status change online or is it a letter in the mail? Thanks!

My naturalization interview in South Florida was rescheduled due to a topical storm in November 2020.  I received the new appointment letter 10 days after the cancellation, with the new interview being scheduled for 6 weeks after my original date. I would guess that this varies according to the workload of your local field office, however.

Floridians always need to be in the loop when it comes to weather related situations.

By observing, I’ve learned that if you have time to plan, the best months to get those in-person appointments with the centers will be from late January to late April.

And the reason is primarily because there’s a huge chance that those severe weather conditions won’t get in the way.

It’s amazing how we need to take such things into account when it comes to doing anything government related in FL.

Well, at least we have this gap to get things done “smoothly”, right?
