So I’m moving without my husband during AOS?

I got into a graduate program and they do not have an issue with me being in adjustment of status process to attend. Doesn’t seem like USCIS cares either. We filed in Detroit in Aug 2020 and it looks like the interview will be around Aug/Sept 2021 unless things speed up magically (doubt it). My school starts mid July and I would move to a different state at this time. Should I let USCIS know that I have moved? I am reading it is law that I inform them

that I have moved. Also, I’m worried it will cause a lot of questions about our marriage and it’s validity if I move away during the AOS process even though we have been married almost two years and I lived with him this entire time till I moved away for school. Any advice before we spend money on a lawyer to discuss this?

Yes. At that time you'll have to update your physical address. See INA 265(a): "Each alien required to be registered under this subchapter who is within the United States shall notify the Attorney General in writing of each change of address and new address within ten days from the date of such change and furnish with such notice such additional information as the Attorney General may require by regulation."

Would it have a negative impact on our application from what you know?

Also I just read this

You do not need to notify USCIS about temporary addresses as long as you maintain your present address as your permanent residence and continue to receive mail there” my husband will continue to live at our house and I am

only moving temporarily for school. Not to establish residence there... I wonder how this applies

edit. Nvm I’m reading that you should even let them know about a temporary address change.

Yes, you should let them know of temporary addresses, but your address to study won't be temporary because you will be there a long time. Also, keep a record of when you make the address change because you will be asked about this on your applications for ROC, naturalization, etc.

How long is the graduate program? Most likely, unless you are in health sciences, your program will be online so you might not have to move. Also, even if a program is like 1-2 years, you will have summer holiday and winter break. Maybe your partner can relocate or if he works from home, he can work from where you will be? If he is thinking of relocating or trying, that can be mentioned in the interview. You'll need to keep track of every time you visit each other to show that you are still on a relationship.

I don't know what has happened to people living apart, so I cannot answer about that in terms of interview. That's just a bunch of questions and I think the answers could help others give you better feedback.
