Filed our packet in May, still no interview set-up

So my wife is in process of obtaining her green card. We sent in the packet to the USCIS the first week of May. She received her work permit/"advance parole" card in October, but there still hasn't been any letter in regards to scheduling our interview. 

 

I was just curious to hear about how everyone else's process is going. It's almost been 9 full months of waiting for us. For travel-related precaution, she hasn't left the country due to the ongoing situation and fear of being given a hard time w/ customs due to travelling throughout the pandemic. Due to COVID, are some green cards still being granted without an interview? I heard some people weren't having to do interviews a few months ago but not sure how the current situation is now. Our case is very straightforward so I hope that's the case!

The occurrences of approval without interview appears to have dropped significantly after uscis reopened offices..  Straightforward or not they are done in some sort of sequence.   You need to look up your local field office for timing.  Varies wildly.

just curious, how long after biometrics did she get her EAD? My wife's NOA is May 6 and she just did her biometrics Jan... anxiously awaiting the EAD

Unfortunately a lot of us are waiting a awhile. My husband got his EAD and advanced parol in August of 2020. We filed in February of 2020. We got an approval for his AOS in August as well. We just got a notification that they scheduled his interview for his AOS on the 29th of this month. So it’s been almost a year of waiting. It’s super frustrating considering a lady he works with just had her green card mailed to her. So it’s all a confusing time. I hope it moves quicker for you. Good Luck 🍀
