Hi everyone, our case was received 02/19/2021 at Chicago Lockbox and I-485 has now been updated online to Interview Was Scheduled. So we are waiting for mail to find out interview date :) I have a question. We realized that we forgot to change physical address information with USCIS when we moved mid October (>10 days ago now). I'm scared because apparently this is a big deal and googling this online leads to talks of deportation, which seems so extreme. Anyone have experience with this? Assuming I should just change address as expected? Better late than never, right? I'm very worried because our case has been progressing very well and no additional requests for evidence. I would hate for a simple forgotten address change to do us in. It was not intentional. :( We moved to a nearby city in the same metropolitan area. Any feedback is much appreciated. Happy to see all of our cases moving along quite swiftly!

I think it is very unlikely that changing your address late will hamper your case. You are encouraged to change your address so you do not miss any mail from USCIS, there is no detrimental repercussions to doing that late.

Hello Everyone!

My husband received his interview notice on 10/29.

His interview was on 12/02.

The interview was very brief. The officer asked my husband questions from the form. We were asked to provide any sort of proof we have with both of our names on it. We submitted bank statements, renters insurance, car insurance and health insurance. The officer did not say we were approved on the spot but the direction in which the conversation went indicated that we were approved. The officer told us he needs to verify the medical that was submitted at my husband's initial interview was still valid.

Our case status changed to "My interview is completed and my cases needs to be reviewed.".

Our case status changed to "New card is being produced." on 12/07.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Happy Holidays!!!!

AOS concurrent filing (i130, i765, i485)

Marriage to USC

Beneficiary visa status - B1/B2

Filed dated- Feb 15, 2021

USCIS received - Mar 22, 2021

NOA1 date - Feb 16, 2021

Overall-

1. First ever update to the case was about RFE notice (for DOB certificate) sent in May which was never received n after speaking to USCIS tier 1 officer they resent in June (delayed by a month)

2. Biometrics sent in Sept was not received (returned by USPS) n missed the appointment due to this. (No case update so never tracked the mail). Took help from local congressman and got it rescheduled to Nov 19. (Delayed by another 1 month)

3. Interview on Dec 21. Approved by the officer. Status changed to card production after a few hrs.

4. Status changed to case approved on Dec 22 n notice been sent.

Interview on Dec 21 in San Jose, CA. Extremely polite n professional officer.

No separation of petitioner n beneficiary.

A. Officer asked for passports from both.

B. Officer put both under oath.

C. Officer said focus will be on beneficiary n asked following qs -

1. How did u both meet (both)

2. How did ur previous marriage end n reasons (separately to both)

3. How long n how was the courtship (petitioner)

4. Partner’s parents’ names (petitioner)

5.  Asked current address n how many n who all living at it (beneficiary)

6. Have u met partner’s parents (both)

7. Have u met ur stepchild (Beneficiary)

8. When is ur last day at current job (beneficiary)

9. Do u plan to work after (beneficiary)

10.  Anniversary plans (both)

11. Any joint documents (both). (Took a few additional ones for their file n returned the ones they thought were just more of the same types submitted with AOS packet.)

12. Any pictures (saw every picture in detail n looked at the one of petitioner with beneficiary’s parents n just commented that these were the parents)

13. Mentioned they wanted to validate i693. Looked at I-693 (mailed with AOS packet on Feb 15, 2021) to make sure it’s valid.

D. Officer updated the i485 form based on answers given by beneficiary

E. Officer said case will be approved n sent to FBI security clearance which should take a day or so

F. Explained the 2 yr condition on the GC n asked if we had any questions

G. Officer if asked if there were any questions. So I asked how long will it take n they said once they hit approve today FBI clearance should ideally be completed before Christmas n you should get the cards in 2-3 weeks in mail.

Case status changed to “card being produced” after a few hours.

Case status changed to “case approved n notice sent” the next day (Dec 22)

We are in Houston and still waiting.  almost a year since we filed now.  And Combo card has been in had since October as well.  Still waiting for a SSN appointment to be scheduled.  Can't even get the local office on the phone to schedule.  It always just rings for 20 minutes and transfers to national office, who can't do anything.  It's pretty ridiculous.  We want to make summer plans, but are hesitant to do anything until we know when the interview will be. It would suck to have to cancel all the plans or miss the interview or reschedule.  If we can reschedule?  IDK

Hope we see some movement soon.

Just had a status change that a new card is coming.  I think it's just a EAD/AP auto-renewal, so we aren't getting our hopes up yet.  It's kind of wild waiting for over 500 days now for an interview.  SMH

wow, wow, wow.   It was not an auto-renewal.  It was the 2yr Green Card!!!  to say we are excited and surprised is an understatement.  No interview and no new documentation.  Just waited a year since the EAD/AP card and it came.  wild.  Thanks to everyone that helped and supported us and others along the way.  Good luck to everyone that is still waiting and hang in there!
