Hope you get your new biometrics soon! A good news is that it seems it's moving quickly after biometrics. See below timeline for reference.

AOS Timeline: San Jose

Application received : March 11

Biometrics: Sept 27

Interview was Scheduled: Oct 5

Received Mail on interview schedule: Oct 13

Interview Date: Nov 1

If all smooth and approved, I might get my GC before Thanksgiving. Definitely something to be thankful for. Hang in there!

That's great news! Wish you all best for the interview!

I am still in the dark about the missed biometrics. Thinking of consulting a lawyer and/or seek Congressperson's intervention. Tier 1 agent from USCIS says they can't do anything if you miss your bio (not my fault btw) so you have to wait for the Tier 2 officer to get back to you and the wait time for that is 30 days! Ridiculous!

Heya, I had my interview on Monday and it went well! The IO was very straight to the point. I wasnt approved on the spot nor was I asked for any extra evidence. I offered them photos, lease etc but the IO said that I clearly looked prepared but she wouldnt be needing any of it. I was in and out in half an hour

Hope you get your card soon. Had you submitted proof of relationship at the time of AOS filing? If yes what were those? TIA

Hi guys! I had my interview yesterday, the officer was really nice, the interview felt like more just a conversation than interview. The officer then just asked us about how we met and our relationship story, and yes and no answers about the last part in i485. She just also asked me about our lease. Approved on the spot verbally. Our status changed to new card being produced shortly after we left the interview. My EAD was updated to new card being produced too but the day before the interview. And today all forms i485, i130, i765 and i131 online status all updated to case was approved. Fingers crossed for everyone who’s still waiting and have your approval progress soon!!

It was exactly the same for me today! Approved on the spot after a 20-minute interview. The agent was serious and to the point until he told us we were approved and would get our card in a week or 2. Then he became very friendly and started chatting with us about the fact that we traveled a lot (we had provided the flight tickets of the 40 occasions on which we had met before our wedding. We love travelling😊) etc… And our status changes to « card being produced » as we went out of the office!

Below you will find an update on our case. If you view our profile you will notice a discrepancy in the dates and that is because the system is not registering the Covid-19 dates dates I entered.

Dear VJ members,

Thank you to you all and to the VJ administrators,

Today is a memorable day for us. The Almighty God has blessed our couple again. We had our AOS interview today and everything went well in less than 15 minutes. We arrived 10 minutes prior to the app time and as usual, we passed thru the security check point/metal detector system. Then, checked in with the Appt letter, had a seat and wait to be called. After 30 minutes of waiting, someone opened the door and called my wife's 1st name. Warm welcome from  this friendly USCIS staff.

got in the office and had a seat. ID checked and oath taken. The IO told me the interview is mostly for my wife. Went over some questions from the form I-485 with my wife for about 10 minutes. Then, turned to the computer, enter some info and said: " everything looks good. You will receive your green card in a few days. " We just said Thank you and That is all. We could Not believe. That is ALL!!!!!

This was the end of another step for this long journey towards citizenship.

PS: before, we got home today, the status changed to "My New Card Is Being Produced"

Thank you again to you all for your kind advice.

Good LUCk to those of you who are still waiting for their interview!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, our case was received 02/19/2021 at Chicago Lockbox and I-485 has now been updated online to Interview Was Scheduled. So we are waiting for mail to find out interview date :) I have a question. We realized that we forgot to change physical address information with USCIS when we moved mid October (>10 days ago now). I'm scared because apparently this is a big deal and googling this online leads to talks of deportation, which seems so extreme. Anyone have experience with this? Assuming I should just change address as expected? Better late than never, right? I'm very worried because our case has been progressing very well and no additional requests for evidence. I would hate for a simple forgotten address change to do us in. It was not intentional. :( We moved to a nearby city in the same metropolitan area. Any feedback is much appreciated. Happy to see all of our cases moving along quite swiftly!
