Hey all!

I had my biometrics on July 15th (walked in), and expedited my EAD (financial loss/job offer) the next day. For my I-485, on July 16th it changed to ready to be scheduled for interview. I still haven’t received any word since requesting to expedite 24 days ago. I checked in a couple of times via Emma to see if everything is okay and they said just wait. I reached out to my congresswoman also but didn’t hear anything back either. I reached out via Emma again about a week ago asking to speak to a tier 2 officer and they should I’d hear something within 28 days (no word yet).

Any one any tips for getting the ball moving again? Anyone in the same boat?

Do you try to chat with them as i suggested, calling USCIS will not work for your emergency request, they hardly answer anyone calls this days, right now you can still chat with them and get your expedite request through.

They called and we discussed the process.  But sadly emergency means it'll still take a week or two, which is too long for emergencies. Not to mention it doesn't expedite your current filing, you have to file an all new form and pay another fee. So we decided it wasn't useful so we will just wait.  I expect her EOD and AP to come any time now.  I have seen average is between 30-60 days after biometrics.  🤞

I am in the same boat, I have expedited more than once now because of urgent reasons, even contacted my congresswoman who put in a request to USCIS recently, but nothing yet. The first expedite was made almost the same time as well. I was also told to just wait. Sigh!

Case Approved!
Hello guys, I just wanted to update you on my case. I had my interview on August 17 and my case was approved one day later.
Right now I’m just waiting for my green card to be produced and mailed.

Marriage based.
PD Feb 5 2021

Approved August 18 2021

Interview was easy, not a lot of questions asked. IO only asked my husband about when we met, when we started dating officially, when he proposed, if he asked my parents for my hand in marriage and who was there at our wedding. Also if we had taken any trips together. He only directed one question to me and it was if we had a budget at home to which I replied with how we split utilities and other expenses.
He also asked me a summary of the yes and no questions on I-485. For documents he only asked for our birth certificates, marriage certificates, my husbands drivers license and the passport I used when I came into the states and 2020 taxes.

Unlike other people’s experiences my interview was not a “casual conversation” lol it really did feel 100% like a bureaucratic process but it was not intimidating or scary. Officer was never mean but he was serious, firm and VERY specific with his instructions and was supposed to answer each question. He even gave us instructions on which order to ENTER his office and how to sit, he made out lawyer get out and go back in in the correct order  lol (me first, my husband second and our lawyer last).

So hang in there! Things are moving and you’ll have your cases approved soon!

It all depends on local offices. I’m in Miami, FL and I had my biometrics 6/29, a week after it changed to case is ready to be scheduled for interview and then about a month after 8/5 it changed to the interview was scheduled and then 5-10 days after I received a letter in mail with instructions and interview date 9/15. I have never expedited anything and have never heard anything about EAD nor AP.
So if you local office goes with the pace as mine is, you should hopefully shortly expect some progress.

Hi all,

Question on documentation for the interview. The interview letter requests "all documentation establishing your eligibility for lawful permanent resident status - this includes proof of status as an asylee, refugee, or a fiance nonimmigrant"

What are they looking for here? The I-94 and K1 visa stamp in the passport? What did others use to meet this requirement?

Same for "all travel documents used to enter the US." Would this just be the K1?

That's what I took to the interview, the I-94, K1 visa stamp, entry stamp and passport. They didn't ask to see it but that sounds good enough to meet that requirement to me!
