I was sent an RFE (request for initial evidence) yesterday by mail, according to my USCIS account. I haven't received it yet, and I have no idea what is it about. It seems like at least, after 78 days, someone looked at my paperwork.

Me also I received the same but it was result of my escalation through the congressperson, the same day they replied to the congressman that they are waiting for feedback of REF, shamefully for them they only start the review of my file the same day the escalation note get to them because the email from the congressperson show their USCIS replied that the REF was issued the same day.

In my sincere view of thing, USCIS need independent Audit to check their process and ''turn around-time'' of how each application is been process.... as many application are just sleeping there unattended to until any of their officer just have nice day to pick file or if there is escalation note received.

from some source, I was told they are doing this delayed for some political and vote suppression, how true is  that I don't know but i believed the source. And that 's why that Agency need to neutral officer when it come to their job and politics as many life is at stack as a result of this game that's going on over there.

My advice, if you know how to petition or escalate USCIS to people in government or even to office of the VP or President do it.......... The current process has nothing to do with COVID or backlog anymore.

You are adjusting your case from what visa? You better check with live agents. I-693 Is only when you go attend the interview right?

I'm adjusting from my B1/B2 (Didn't over stay or anything) and yes the I-693 is the medical examination that is  requested during the GC interview, which I'm not there yet, the notice is very random to be honest, So I'm not going to read too much between the lines.

Is it possible that they could be reusing your biometrics from a previous application?

I wish that'd be the case, but I doubt it tbh, i also had the J-1 visa,  and I've got a SSN card. you might expect the wait time should be shorter, but it's the USCIS, I keep very low expectations.

I also received an RFE last week that was after 80 days since they received my case. It took exactly 5 days to receive it in the mail since it updated online. I was thinking it would be for 2020 taxes since we had not filed them yet at the time we submitted the application. However it was an RFE for the long form of my husbands birth certificate GRRRR 😠. I had no idea there are more than one type of birth certificates and that one was the only one my in-laws were able to find. We are now waiting for Vitalchek to process the birth certificate application, they said it will be about 20 days for them to send us something hopefully they send it sooner.

Oh wow. Sorry to hear about that. Not sure which form my spouse used. I hope you are able to get the right sooner, than 20 days. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate you shared how long it took you to get notice in the mail, so I have an estimate here.

That's very quick. Congrats! Are you marriage based?

Yes marriage based, adjusting from B2.I think so too, each month something new came from uscis.

Someone that had the biometric appointment in March, already received the date for the interview.

thank you!

did you expedite?

I've honestly heard people who are filing in 2021 are getting their bios much quicker than those in 2020. Wow! who has already received their interview date? Are they in this thread as well?
