Ooh I hope that posting will spread the good luck to my application also! I sent in my I-131, I-485, I-130 and I-765 on the 16th of February, 2021 to Chicago Lockbox. Arrived there morning of the 18th of Feb 2021. No news yet on card charge or receipts but hoping for the best!

Our package got returned back to us in the mail today. The reason stated is “Form I 485 that  we use is outdated”. But the one we used is the one that’s expiring on 07/31/2021.

But that aside, does anyone know if we have to reprint all the other forms and sign them again, or should we just focus on the one form (I-485)?

Additionally, all our supporting documents were sent back to us disassembled and repinned in a different order by USCIS, where all similar documents are pinned together. So I’m wondering if we have to leave it like that or put them in the first?

Thank you

No, they didn’t cash the check. We paid through money order so they just sent them back to us uncashed together with the rest of the documents. About the form, it was our mistake, we used the one they updated last year but was later removed from the website. It’s expiring this year so we thought that was the right form. NOA just says we should resubmit the right version of form I 485, and will do just that.

But I’m not so sure if we have to reprint and sign again the rest of the the forms, or we should just work on form I 485 and resubmit the other forms with no changes. Also, our medicals (I 163) came back opened from the sealed envelope. So I’m not sure if that means we have to re-do the medicals or just have the doctor that did them reseal the envelope. Thanks

I think you dont need to do all the forms as they all updated( un expired). May be you should change all signed pages from other forms just to match with new i-485. About i-163 I think you should write a letter what happened. If they want they can ask re-do the medical at interview level. They are some experienced members in VJ , post your question in main page..you will get experienced reply

Do this recheck all your forms against the USCIS page and make sure they are the correct forms.  Write a note explaining that your 693 was sealed and was opened there at USCIS and your packet was returned.  I would not redo the medical. I'm sure they can see that your packet was sent back. Ideally leave the other forms in the order USCIS placed  them if you don't  have to redo them. Then send back.

Thank you. I think writing a note explaining about 693 should work. Thanks for your response

Just sharing a little update here:

2/8/21 - AOS package mailed via FedEx

2/15/21 - Package delivered to Phoenix lockbox

3/24/21 - Receipt numbers (I-485, I-765, I-131) obtained from Emma.

It appears like the case is sent to NBC; I am wondering if this is normal or whether it means anything to the processing time.

Bit of an amendment to my timeline as I retrieved my receipt numbers from Emma yesterday as well and I have the exact dates now. I used G-1145, but texts/e-mail notifications can either be delayed or not sent at all I’ve heard. My NOAs were put in the mail by USCIS on 03/22/2021 so they will arrive any day now!

02/19/2021: Package received by USCIS Chicago Lockbox via USPS (USPS tracking said 02/20/2021 but this was not true apparently)

03/22/2021: Fingerprint fee accepted for I-485 (I-765 and I-131 case status just says “case was received” 02/19/2021)

My I-485 case status also states that it was transferred to National Benefits Center. I don’t know what that means though or where it is normally processed. But you’re not alone!

Most all cases are processed at NBC that's  in Missouri.  Your I-485 will be screened then sent to the closet field office near where you live. That's where you will interview at. NBC is National Benefits  Center , Lee's Summit Missouri

It's normal 99% of cases go to NBC.

UPDATE:
I just contacted USCIS via chat today and was able to chat with a representative. Provided basic info (name, dob, number, etc)
The agent was able to locate my application and said they can only give me info on the i-130 and i would need to call to get info on the other forms. it's been 8 weeks, apparently my receipts were mailed out on the 03/17. i got the case number(receipt number) for only the i-130 sent in the AOS filing. Hard copies are on the way in mail to be delivered.

You can reach USCIS representative via chat itself. Go to their website USCIS.gov (https://uscis.gov/) and try to start with virtual assistant Emma first and say "did not receive receipt notice". It will throw few comments. Then say "chat with a representative". Then click on "case status". it will ask for a receipt number . click "you don't have a receipt number". It will give you options in which "Connect to live chat" will be one of the option. Choose that and you will get connected to an agent.

Good Luck.
