How to find out whether our priority date is current or not.

Please help me to clarify it.

Table A in the visa bulletin (“final action dates”). Check the table for your category and country (most countries have the same priority date being current except for India, Mexico and Philippines). All dates earlier than the date listed are current. For F2A cases all cases are current at present.

Ask your sponsor

Thanks you so much.

Our priority date is in January 2006.

Im going to calculate my cspa age. But the problem is i dont know our visa approved date or year. How can i find out that. Do i have to contact NVC ?

You can ask your sponsor for the approval date in the NOA2 approval letter.

The first four numbers in your NVC case number is the year that the I-130 was approved.  You can not figure out the exact date this way; only the year.

Which country? For most countries, the “visa available “ date for Jan 2006 was a long while back, May 2019. To avail of CSPA protection a DS260 would have had to be submitted within a year of that date. (unless approval only took place after that date, then a year after approval is the cutoff , but that would be unusual for F4.) Are you perhaps from India? (Where it’s not current yet?)

Ask your petitioner for approval date. They would have received an i797 “approval notice” with the approval date on, at some stage after filing (possibly months, possibly years later).

Im from nepal . We submitted ds 260 in september 2019 and got DQed in july 2020.

I just wanted to clarify whether i can get my f4 visa or not (Im over 21now) , because of this looong wait.

Thank you all for giving me very informative replies. I learnt a lot.😇😇

Ok. So when you do the CSPA calculation, it actually will use the CSPA age you were in May 2019, as that was and remains the relevant date. You locked that in by submitting the DS260 in time.

You have not provided enough information for us to help you.

Have you run your dates through a CSPA calculator?

What's the first 4 numbers in the NVC case number?

When's your birthday?

What's the Priority Date?

F4 visa was current back in 2019, you was approximately 22, your waiting time is 3 year give or take , and your family finished ds-260 back then so your locked cspa age is only 19-20 so you are protected. F4 is retrogressed / banned currently but you are still protected no matter what.
