Mitt Romney: 84% Approval Rating With Utah Democrats

By Catherine Smith - January 29, 2021

Republican Utah Sen. Mitt Romney is far more popular with Democrats and unaffiliated voters than he is in his own party  [...]

Continues here:   https://amgreatness.com/2021/01/29/mitt-romney-84-approval-rating-with-utah-democrats/

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Isn't Romney supposed to represent all Utahns, not just Republicans?

Sorry, can't read the article -- my browser still flags that website as harmful. I did google the headline and came across this article from Deseret News, which should be safe for everyone: https://www.deseret.com/utah/2021/1/24/22242586/mitt-romney-poll-disapproval-mike-lee-republican-donald-trump-election-fraud-joe-biden-democrat

Thanks for linking factually. Doesn't surprise me that a site promoting false narratives would also potentially be promoting malware. (mods, is there a way for VJ to filter malware sites from being linked?)

You might consider running a scan on your computer. I just checked mine -- no malware, thankfully. Maybe it's time for a new Macbook? My husband convinced me that I should replace my old one with a ThinkPad, which I did, and I like it, but I feel safer with Apple products when it comes to viruses.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see how the numbers change as we move away from the election and on to the day to day of the Biden administration.

I guess the consolation is that "mixed" factual reporting is actually up a notch from the last time I posted this.

If we're realistic for a second, a popularity rating for someone in a party a demographic of people aren't voting for anyways doesn't mean much. What does mean much?

Unlike Romney, though, Lee remains strong in his own party. The poll found 69% of Republicans approve of his performance.

Romney's only hope is to switch parties.

I didn't click on the OP link, but I've clicked on some dubious VJ links in the past, so definitely good idea. Firing up Malwarebytes right after this post.

I love my Macbook Pro btw. Can't even imagine going back to Windows for real productivity. (my gaming rig is Windows because gaming on a Mac is an exercise in frustration)

Agreed. The Dems won this election on very high expectations. I hope they live up to those expectations, although they don't have a great history of doing that. In the meantime, I'm really digging that I can't remember the last tweet from the President's account.

But Lee's popularity overall is lower than Romney's (by 5%). It could be that Lee's Republican orthodoxy is actually dragging him down.

Edit: clarity there... obviously they are both Rs!!

If popularity is being gauged for the sake of popularity, it might be meaningful. But for that.. who cares? If it's gauged for the sake of elections (which is what most people infer), it's irrelevant. Romney is a Republican and Democrats aren't going to vote for him. I really hope he votes to convict, he'll sink as fast as Liz Cheney. :pop:

It is kind of risky. He only has 4 years left to turn things around before he's up for re-election.

Last time, it was apparently Americanthinker.com, not amgreatness.com.

For the record, RealClearPolitics regularly links articles from both of the above, so not malware.

Getting back to topic, it's seemed clear for a while that Romney should simply switch parties and make things official.

Could be their advertisers. A lot of times these blogs just sign up for an advertising service without knowing who they're getting ads from.

Now that Trump is gone, Romney will settle back down, and the world will return to equilibrium.
