are USCIS letters “Do Not Forward” ?

Hello,

In 2020 I moved temporarily from my previous address due to the pandemic.

I requested the USCS to “Temporary forward mail” service to my new address.

I’ve never notify USCIS the change of address because my official “post office” never changed since the move was supposed to be Temporary.

California Service Center, could approve my I-130 as early as October 2021.

Does USCIS send “Do Not Forward” approval notices?

I’d appreciate very much your advice.

Thank you,

Kind regards,

C56

from the association of immigration lawyers (asking for this to be suspended during the pandemic but afaik that request has not been granted)

USCIS envelopes do not allow the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to forward them from the intended recipient. If the envelope indicates “Return Service Requested”, the envelope will not be forwarded by USPS. https://www.aila.org/File/DownloadEmbeddedFile/84209

Thank you for your reply.

I understood that USCIS DID NOT allow  the request of AILA for Mail Forwarding Temporarily, correct?

"If I stop my "temporary forward mail service" :  - Will the USCS mail person, leave the USCIS letters in the mail box of my previous (permanent) address.

If the above is true, then, I do not need to change my address with USCIS. (Somebody who is living in my previous address, will collect the USCIS notice for me.)

Please advise. Thank you,

Kind regards,

You'll have to check with the post office. My understanding, which may be flawed, is that if they have a forwarding address for you on file but have mail they are not allowed to forward, it will be returned to sender (hence "return service requested").  I presume if it's a temporary service that you stop it would go back to normal but i've never used that service so personally do not know.

Do you have a myuscis account? All your letters would be in there, no wondering.

I do have USCIS account but unfortunately, only  my previous case of naturalization from 2020 is in there.

I tried to include my I-130 petition entering the information from the I-797C with receipt number, priority date etc. but with no success! I will try again...

I mailed to USCIS a G-1145 form along with I-130 back in 2018.

I did receive an email 'USCIS Acceptance Confirmation" from Do_Not_Reply_Lockbox ... I guess the e-Notification Form  G-1145, application was accepted.

I believe USCIS will notify me via email of any move they will do in the future, like I-130 approval. Is it correct?

Thank you very much again!
