Someone was telling me that starting February 1st Manila is going to be on lockdown again so my question is is this true and also does that mean my wife won't be able to go to her interview on February 5th

Manila is going to GCQ from 2/1 to 2/28.

I'm not sure how that translates to your issue.

Finally done.

Manila has been under GCQ for months now, while most of the rest of the country has been in the more relaxed MGCQ classification. To my knowledge, they are extending the GCQ classification for Manila until at least the end of February, which means things are staying as they were. I don't know if that's what you mean by "lockdown again".

Okay well if that's the case then it shouldn't be a problem because my wife was already able to go to her medical examination with no problem and I just didn't know the full extent of how Philippines does lockdowns I just know they're more strict than they are over here in the states

It very confusing for me to understand as well in the Philippines, They have all these classification of lockdown, GCQ, etc, it really kinda stupid.  And then it appears the President will make a declaration, and then a mayor will over ride their city with a proclamaiton, and then a barangay captian will try to impose there own rules.  It must be a confused madhouse over in the Philippines.

It's really a mess. I think the 🇵🇭 is the only country in the world that requires both face masks and shields in public.  Of course, nobody likes the shields so they wear them on top of their heads but technically they are complying. My wife and I managed to flee in early September.  I would like to return for a short time but she needs to stay for the AOS to process.  But currently I'm banned.

This is correct.  There is no change for Manila.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

There is no change in Manila.  Its still GCQ.  If you have a medical and interview appointment already, they will proceed.

This entire thing is a mess and I don't know who is to blame. These lockdowns are pointless in my opinion. People under 15 or over 65 still not allowed to go outside. My fiancée's two young children.. 5 and 7 have only been outside of their apartment a few times in the past year. I can't imagine the psychological and other effects this is having on people.

She just needs to ignore them.  Ive taken my son out everyday and ignore what anyone else says.  The only hard area is SM.  The way around that is you tell them your taking him to the dentist as its an essential visit.  My son has dentists appointments 2-3 days a week.  :) If you go into any of the local neighborhoods, all children are out playing and running around.  Children are not even at risk, but he wears a mask to not infect others.  I can tell you anywhere outside of Manila, very few rules are even being followed anymore.

They aren't allowed to go to the stores, restaurants or anything like that. She tried to take them to SM mall a few days ago when she needed to withdraw cash from the ATM and was not allowed inside.

It's very hard for her to go anywhere alone because the kids are too young to be left alone and there isn't anyone who can watch them.

Is public school still happening?  As in are the kids going to school and attending classes in person?
