Hi,

I have received a letter from NVC stating that my case is completed and is now transferred to HCM Embassy. In the letter, there is a section stating as following:

"All beneficiaries that have a sponsor filing the form I-864 Affidavit of Support on their behalf, are advised to bring the most current tax documents and supporting financial proof that is current at the date of the visa interview."

What do they mean by that?

1. Do I need to send I-864EZ form and tax documents (returns & W-2) to my wife? If I have to do so, do I make a copy of the documents and send to her? Or I have to send the actual original/secondary prinout of returns and one of actual page of W-2 (Employee Copy)?

2. Or they really mean that if ONLY by the time my wife has the interview and I am performing a new tax return (let's say March 08), I will need to send her that latest information to bring to the interview?

Thanks.

It means you will have to send I-864EZ (if thats what you believe you qualify to file) and all supporting documents to your wife.

1. I-864EZ completely filled, sign in before a Notary, then Notary will have to sign and stamp it. Photo copy of W-2, Photo copy of form 1040 and all supporting form submitted with your federal tax return. You need to send last 3 year's tax returns. If you have time ( 2 weeks) you can order "tax Transcript" from IRS for last three years. Its free, and they mail it to your home address within 10 days.

2. If interview is before April, they usually don't ask for previous year's tax return. If interview is in May/June or any later month, its always good to send copy of previous year's tax return also.

Good Luck
