Changing PH passport renewal appointment

I'm moving my appointment from my current slot in Feb 2020 to April 2020, after my US trip.

The first time I tried to reschedule this morning, there were no available slots in any passport renewal centers in Manila. They are fully booked from Jan-April 2020. Fine, I logged out.

I checked again just a few minutes ago, and lo and behold, DFA Aseana suddenly had slots open every day from Feb to April!  I successfully changed my appointment schedule without any hassle or additional fees. The DFA website will let you reschedule up to 2 times.

I hope this helps anyone else who needs to reschedule.

Yes, I believe @Chancywas tracking this on a daily basis finding openings pop up here and there.  When we replaced our stolen passport, we did the run up to the Tuguegarao office as that was the only openings we could find that were close enough and soon enough.  It took two trips, 2 PCR tests, 2 one-night quarantine, 2 police escorts in Tuguegarao and we finally applied successfully.  We had the passport shipped down on Victoryliner the day Tuguegarao went back to a hard lockdown so we got lucky on that part.  Victoryliner does not ship passports so we disguised it as documents.

Dont change your DFA Aseana appointment.  That is worth more than bitcoin.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

That's terrible, what you had to go through just to replace the passport. Did USEM re-issue the K1 visa yet?

What's the cost of the time machine?  Going back one year cheaper than let's say 10?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Finally done.

Oh, to go back to January 2020, when everything looked perfectly fine, just before the apocalypse started...

They called last Friday asking if we can make it to the US before the expiration of the medical and confirming the change in delivery method. So, hopefully by end of next week we have this.  Im due to fly out on Feb 19th on the PAL flight to JFK but since that is only once a week, we may just take the SFO or LAX flight earlier and figure it from there.  We are all living in a isolated cave at the moment as a failed COVID test will create havoc.

Sorry to hear it's been so complicated for you and your family. Good luck.
