Caregiver, it doesn't matter what the emotional reasons for wanting to leave a country are, it's the financial situation and responsibilities that a person has that may convince a CO to give him a visa. Things such as the company he works for will lose a lot of money if he stays away for more than x amount of time, he owns his own business and will lose money if he stays in the US, he needs x amount of years at the company he presently works at to get a good pension once he retires. Those are the kind of things the CO will look at, not the emotional ties unfortunately.

As hard as it may sound you have to look at it as a business.
