Philippine bank requiring tax info

Sorry for hijacking this post but for those who are still in the Philippines, check with your banks on how to update your online/ mobile app banking accounts. I had so many issues changing form my Smart # to T-Mobile on my online account. Btw, I have BPI and BDO back home.

Good point!  Thanks for raising it!  They are very picky about changing information these days and it would be much easier if you can get it changed before you leave for good.

 

Another good thing to do is establish a relationship with your bank manager before you leave and explain to them what you are doing.  That might help in the future.  Get their phone and e-mail.  I do that at my BPI branch but they keep rotating the managers, so it is harder to maintain the relationship.  Also, during Covid, I rarely go into the branch.

Yes, try to befriend the bank employees if you can  

Also, if you can get your mobile number before you get to the US, do so. BDO does not have an international toll free number for T-mobile (they do have it for AT&T, Sprint, etc.) and during covid, they temporarily stopped taking in requests via email.
