Hello all. Since I can't get clear answers without complete sarcasm from my lawyer, I thought I'd ask here.

My I-129f was sent in April, and we got a receipt number (and the case online shows they received it on April 24)-so we can check the status online. BUT, does this mean that we 'received' our NOA1, just without receiving it by mail? Or does it mean that over two months of waiting has passed, and the next thing that we will get will be the NOA1 or NOA2?

Our case has not been 'Touched' or updated since 5/1. I am so glad to have people here that can understand the weary frustration in all of this.

Thank you for your help...

Visa Type: K-1

I never thought it was worth it, you know, waiting for your love, and then I felt your kiss, I could wait forever for this........

You are paying him/her for their services - why not fire them if they can't answer your questions?

You should have gotten an NOA1 now, but either your lawyer has it & hasn't told you or you didn't receive it yet, there is a backlog now of paper notices. As long as you tracking online, you shoudl be fine.

:guides: tells you what to do next or while you are waiting.

I agree, fire you lawyer. You're passing for his expertise, not for him to be rude.

There are back USCIS is really screwed up right now. The online case status is not updating properly. Some Jan filers had interviews scheduled without ever getting an NOA2 or a letter from NCV. Take a look at my timeline. Also just from reading around. Many recent filers have not recieved their NOA1. There are several posts about this, look in the "K1 case status report" section.

The best way to know whats going on in this situation is to call the NVC hotline, talk to a person (it can be frustrating there system will tell you to call back later and hang up if your hold is "too long". Best to call right before they close or right after they open. NVC call tell you if they received it, and when. In all a more informative group than the USCIS. But make sure you have your WAC# when you call. DO NOT use the automated system to type in your WAC#, it doesn't work with K1s.

How did you get your receipt number? If your lawyer gave it to you then maybe he has your paper NOA1, a receipt number should mean you already have a NOA1 though. All the NOA1 states is that they received your application and gives you your case number, the next thing you should expect at around 2.5 months after your NOA1 date is your NOA2.
