This just doesn't make any sense to me.  This oil will end up going somewhere, probably to China,  where pollution regulations are much more lax than in the US.

Or shipped by rail, pipelines tend to be safer.

Anyway this is about pandering to the base no logic required.

Probably not so funny if you are the one who lost your job.

No one said it’s funny. Wasn’t when you did it last time either. Just the tendency for some to exaggerate and use fake data is well known. January numbers aren’t out yet obviously, but we did lose 140000 jobs in December. Hopefully we start seeing improvement.

@Neonred The oil will be shipped by rail which only adds issues in regards to logistics and safety.

Many unions are not involved with the Keystone XL pipeline. Do you think any of the Keystone XL workers voted for Biden?

Of course some did . Absurd to assume otherwise

No logical reason for the pipeline to be shutdown.  Maybe Biden is  Chinese facilitating

Channel 2 Denver interviewed a Union Boss who was complaining about the loss of Union jobs.

So they knew what was coming then. I do feel bad for them. Must be a tough decision to have to chose between losing your job and having Trump as president. And then to realize that the former is still a better choice.

Have you been seeing the tweets from the union? They are flat out gold because the union leadership was endorsing Biden/Harris several months back and now are saying that ending the pipeline will kill union jobs.

I haven't been following, but Biden said he was going to do it, they voted for him, and he did it. That's why I keep asking what they expected was going to happen.

Yeah it was one of those things that he said he was going to do it during the primaries, then during the election said he wasn't going to do it, and now he is doing it. I mean in the short term it's a loss of alot of temporary jobs of those building the pipeline.

I guess that's what I don't get. Regardless of my political affiliation or personal morality, I don't think I have ever voted for a candidate who has directly threatened my ability to make a living. Not unless they have offered a viable alternative. That's usually down to local politics, but it has come up from time to time.

That's why I try to actually study the policies of people that are running for office especially for local/statewide offices. Those offices tend to have more of a direct impact on what happens in your daily life. Which I actually gave some tips to a local politician (Democrat) that lost in November and gave her some reasons on why she lost and why people like me didn't vote for her. She was running for office for the NC House against the House Majority Whip and she lost 52 to 47. I told her that if she wanted to have even a remote chance of winning next time she needed to ease up on her gun control stances and some of her other stances. I told her that she lost many people that are normally pretty MOR because of her extreme gun control views.

Edit. We actually had a really good discussion on both sides.

Who said it actually has to make any sense.  The oil will still keep coming to the US, just by other means (mostly rail), so maybe this is just a way to help out Warren B.
