Hello My fiance received 221g in Mumbai today for the K1 visa...

My case- it will be second marraiage for both... all questions were answered well but we only had 7-8 pages of chat records and the officer wanted to see more chat records..

I hope after submitting the proof of relationship ( chat records, photos, boarding passes, financial support to her, circumstances of meeting , wedding plan etc.)  the case will progress again.

My question-

1. Does the applicant herself have to drop off the additional documents or can anyone else drop it off on behalf of her..

2. Is it any faster if I drop off the documents at the Mumbai location than any other location within India?

Thanks

What does the 221g have for instructions?  Most consulates use a courier service for submission of documents.

How to Submit 221(g) Documents

Step 1

Print a document submission letter, and complete the checklist manually.

Step 2

Go to the nearest CGI document drop-off location. Take your 221(g) submission slip, the 221(g) letter given to you at the Embassy or Consulate, and all documents requested in your 221(g) letter.

Step 3

Drop-off your documents and the 221(g) submission slip at the CGI document collection office. CGI will acknowledge the 221(g) submission slip for you to keep for your records.

Step 4

CGI delivers your documents to the Embassy or Consulate.

Step 5

CGI returns your documents and your passport to you at your chosen document delivery pickup location. If issued, your passport will contain your visa. You may also receive a new 221(g) letter.

Back to track application

The instructions make it sounds like the applicant has to drop off the documents...

Instructions seem fairly clear.  Prepare the submission and drop off the documents at the nearest CGI office

YMMV

I am wondering if it is okay for a relative of fiance to go and drop it off on her behalf to save time since she won't be able to go for a few days due to health issues...

Why would they care who drops it off?

Just get it done.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Yes I think so too.. just that the instructions don't explicitly mention so I was wondering about it...
I will create a wholesome package shortly and drop it off..

I am planning to include-

1.All chat, email, voice call records over 170 pages...

2. Photos of all three visits

3. Gift receipts, hotel stay receipts

5. Passport stamps, boarding passes

6. Marriage license appointment letter

7. Circumstances of meeting write up ( the same one that I had sent with the I-129f)

8. Intent to marry letter

9. Proof of financial support to my fiance

Anything else I might be missing?

Thanks
