So yesterday I was supposed to go with my husband to usa after I received my Cr1 visa after long wait. We dragged our suitcases to the airport and as soon as we reached embarking it was a huge shock. So Moroccan people with Cr1 visa can't leave the country without an authorization from the government 😢

I had to go back home cancel my flight and do the paperwork and beside that I will need to do my test again

Iot of expenses and trips we didn't think we would be doing for the sake of going to the states.

BTW I was not the only one being returned for the same problem.

I guess visa journey is never ending 😑

This is an order stated in November 2020 and today was extended to February 21, 2021

it even states the following about US's flying out

U.S. citizens seeking to fly from Morocco to a destination other than the United States are required to obtain an exceptional authorization from local authorities.

BTW you can not fly into Europe for stop over

Where do you get it? What form is it? And what do you need to get the form or as you call it an exceptional authorization?

Is it only for u.s. citizens? Or is it for a Moroccan leaving the country for good.

I applied for it yesterday and the officer asked me to come back today afternoon

It's mainly for Moroccans who don't have a green card.

I do not call it that

the US embassy sit posted that Morocco posted these restrictions back in November and renewed them till February 2021 (maybe they will extend them again as covid is out of control in Morocco because the China vaccine is not working)

i do not know but i would start at local police department or the court where you get the birth certificate or call Office of Foreign Affairs in Rabat which close soon as you're 5 hours ahead of me

Unfortunately it is always the traveler’s responsibility to know what forms, visas etc they need for travel. It is still disappointing that the airline website is not clear.

Thank you

Thanks again! My fiance went to get this form and they wanted some proof of our upcoming marriage. But K1 fiance visa coupled usually don't decide that until the fiance is in the other country. It's been crazy. But I am happy to know about the form before he gets to the airport.

What form?

The permission from the government to leave. I don't know the name of the form .  I just know that he will need it at the Moroccan airport in Casablanca . This is put into effect in November 2020.

Well.. Well.. Well! Today again after I fixed my missing document (leaving authorization) and having done another covid test, me and my American spouse went to the airport to catch our flight. Just right after they stamped my passport and gave me my boarding pass (which happened after lot of trouble) my husband was told that he have overstayed his visa and they can't let him leave😑. We were so sure that overstating during emergency state was not a problem but it turned out to be another deal breaker. We had to postpone our trip to the states a second time.

I want everybody trying to leave the country with their spouses to make sure that they called their embassies to confirm their situations before going to the airport.

So now he overstays even more? How is he supposed to fix this? I hope you called the US embassy right away. How can they not allow a citizen of a different country to go home to this country? I'm flabbergasted reading this.

We don't know anything yet, I was told to go home and seek police station in the morning, but then I think he should call us embassy and ask for more infirmation.
