Hi, just a simple question:

- I got my biometrics on 6/13.

- They told me that I was supposed to get my EAD maybe this week(2 weeks after biometrics)

- BUT I only see a "touch" on my case (last update on 6/14) and thats it.

My case seems to be at the NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER.

Do you know what is going on? Do I still need to wait more? Do I need to schedule an InfoPass? Please...HELP!

Thank you! :)

EADs take around 90 days (so around the first week in August from your timeline). The people in the ASC have nothing to do with when EADs are processed, what they told you is totally worthless and wrong information I'm afraid. You can schedule an Infopass when 90 days has passed from the receipt date on your NOA1 for EAD, and you still don't have your EAD. There's no point in doing so beforehand.

Thanks for the quick response. I am rejecting work offers because i do not have the wonderful EAD.

Can i say i have the ead "in progress" in order to get a job?

because i dont know if i can get this opportunities in the future, also with this job market that is changing really fast (at least here in charlotte). I am also not applying to jobs, but i already have my resume posted in several job sites, and they are calling :(.. that sucks. being able to get a job but at the same time..unable to get one.

Thanks for the response, and i hope i can get some good news soon!

You can say whatever you want, but the employer will be breaking the law unless your EAD is approved. That said, employers all over the USA break this law every day, after all, illegal immigrants get jobs here right?

I feel your pain, but sadly there's not much to do.

Our case is the same as yours....our NOA date is 5/8. It's been over a month since we've had a touch.

But I think it'll be pointless to make an INFOPASS apt before the 90-day mark - so we're being patient.

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil

A lack of touches in meaningless, and not cause for concern. If you look at my timeline in my sig you'll see I went months without touches, and yet my EAD showed up before the 90 day deadline, and my AOS processed quickly.
