Does anyone know how long this Bannon South Africa will be.

Do you guys think it's possible to travel to another country and then fly to the states if you are from South Africa?.

Why couldn't they just require a negative covid test 💔 WANT TO SEE MY LOVE

I'm assuming you are a spouse of US citizen per your profile info. If so, note that previous COVID proclamations have stated that people in your circumstance are exempt to the travel restriction. We'll have to wait to see if the South Africa COVID proclamation follows that trend. If it does follow that trend, then you'll be able to travel directly to the US but would need "proof of a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19." https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/fr-proof-negative-test.html

Yes my fiance is a US PR and we meant to get married in March to start of our CR1 visa so right now I'm not in an specific special case. I was basically going to go see him on tourist and that option is clearly out of the picture

IR-1/CR-1 is only for spouses of US citizen. Thus your case would be F2A.

Do you already have a B-2 or B-1/B-2 visa? If yes, then you would have to go to an unrestricted country or area (e.g. Mexico, Serbia, Croatia, Turkey, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, etc.) for 14* days and then travel to the US. And before departing the unrestricted country you would need "proof of a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19." https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/fr-proof-negative-test.html

*I'm assuming "14 days" per the previous COVID proclamations, but we'll have to wait for the actual proclamation to confirm.

I'm from a banned country as well (Spain), and my plan is to spend a couple of weeks in Croatia before going to visit my boyfriend (it's been a year 💔).  If you can afford spending that much time out of your country then that option is still open. I just hope they don't close the borders to any more countries because we're getting desperate.

That is what I'm wondering about. How will they actually know if you do quarantine? People have to go back to work...

They won't know.  There is no means to enforce a quarantine "order".  It is a "feel good" recommendation at this point.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

My understanding is that in some countries the police stops by to make sure you're home. I'm not sure if that's realistic for the US though.

That's what I was thinking. I didn't understand how they could do that. And isn't it also more up to states?

Its a whopping failure on the first world. They will keep locking down and when things go nuts, economic & financial collapse is inevitable. It is going to end very ugly.

duh

I agree, although a lot of what's going on in the world would have sounded unrealistic and authoritarian only a year ago.

You really think police in the US have time to track people down?

And in saying that, it's checking on compliance with quarantine. So cops are going to risk seeing someone face to face who could risk their health?
