I had a crba interview not too long ago for my daughter so I know they're operating and I"ve emailed so many times. They're just super vague and I was curious what others knew or if there's something I could do to speed up the process.

Thanks for all your help!

US citizen services are prioritized above all visa services.

Bringing her here on a tourist visa to adjust and stay is fraud.

Have you tried asking for an emergency interview since your kid is already a US citizen? Maybe you can use that as a reason for your spouse to get an emergency interview.

My wife's cr1 is at NVC and has been approved since December.

If her case has been DQ'd by NVC since December, and it is only January, that's normal to still be waiting for an interview, even pre-COVID.  Now that things are slower/backed up, it will take more time as others have pointed out.  My advice is to request an expedite if you meet the criteria.  Everyone is waiting longer than normal these days, so all you can do is patiently wait and not stress too much about it.  I was separated from my husband for more than a year while waiting for his CR-1 process, many wait 2, 3, or more years in different countries.  Maybe you can go and visit her for short trips during the waiting period?  That's what I did to make the long period of separation more bearable.  Good luck!

Not a very valid reason for an expedite.

There are very limited reasons to have an expedite successful. Usually it is medical emergencies or extreme hardships. Expedites are even harder now because of Covid.

I know each country has different policies in order to expedite. I was just suggesting since I was able to get an expedite for my wife using that reason. I was almost in the same boat as the OP.
