I'm all about Obama, but I wish he'd stand up for gay rights a little more....

Right now Obama is the only dem that has a chance to win. Any other dem loses to any rep candidate.

OK, really, I'd love Hillary. Does she have a chance - prolly not altho lots of people like Bill.

Obama is not travelled enough. Plus are we really ready for a black (or woman) president? Sadly, I think not.

But I will take Rudy cuz he is a good dude (& a liberal one)!

Really, Gary where can I get one of your (republican) crystal balls? Do they come in Democrat too?

Rudy's only flaw is his NYC-mannerisms. He can sometimes come across as mean and obnoxious. If you listened to his radio show when he was mayor, you know what I mean.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I wouldn't think there would be a landslide come election time as there really isn't much to differentiate the two parties. What I think will be more likely is that it will be a close election result - but the turnout will be lower.

The real question is, how do the old farts lean? They're the ones with time to vote.

This old fart leans right. But I guess you didn't need for me to tell you that.

Or, on the flip side, especially if a minority runs, more will turn out, in retaliation against war-mongering GWB.

I think that boat has sailed IMO. The anger over that has become a dull acceptance. Likely whoever gets in will want to pull out as quickly and quietly as possible - to draw a curtain over the Bush era.

Some do, some don't. There sure were a whole lot of old Democrat farts that needed to be silenced in Florida once upon a time. Young voter turnout is usually pretty constant, but we do sometimes elect Democrats, you know.

Not to mention several red states were veeeeeery closely almost blue. Sadly, for my overseas vote, my home state was NY, not Ohio at the last election.

I don't think there is any way that the core Christian right Republican base is going to accept Guiliani (or McCain or Romney) as their candidate. I think if any of them are the nominee there will be a protest candidate who will splinter the conservative vote and deliver Clinton to the white house.

If she picks Obama (who I believe will energize the youth vote in a way not seen since 92) as her running mate I think she will be unstoppable

and will have to bear the consequences of such a move. The only solution is to bring in the UN and other nations to help. Which means giving up lucrative contracts.

A total pullout would be a disaster as it will lead to civil war and genocide on a large scale.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Hopefully somemore with more moderate attitudes than GWB will get in. The way they have used 9/11 for political purposes over the last 7 years is disgusting.
