We got approved,I'm so insanely happy its unbelievable. Thank you all for the help you've given us over the last couple of months :D We couldn't have done it without you!

We went in to the building 45 minutes early, our binders went through an x ray machine and he had to put our keys around. Security man took our letters and told us to wait in a room that had quite a few people in. We waited for a while and about 12:15 we were called in. We had to go upstairs into a little room. He asked who was sponsoring who (Husband sponsoring me), then he flicked through a few pages and said " Let me check we have the address right so you get your card" then asked "have you ever been arrested?" - No. Then he said we don't have your FBI check, and I was thinking how wonderful, I'll be joining the VJ board of FBI hell. Then he said, let me check on the computer, 'oh yes here it is, it's clear'

"Do you or have you ever had a drug problem?" - No. Then he said "Why did it take you so long to file?" So we told him about the cost and that we knew we needed 3 consecutive tax returns 125% over the poverty line so we waited until we had them so we didn't need a financial sponsor. Then he said how many times have you been married, how many kids, when did you get married? Then .. Ok I'm approving the application. You should have your card in about 3 weeks,if its not here within 4 months come back and we'll see if it got lost.

Then he interviewed the kids, asked their ages and that was about it. Checked their address was correct and asked my eldest (11 years old) if she'd been arrested. She looked confused and said no, I don't think she knew that kids that age get into trouble with the police.

And that was it, he stamped our passports and said that if we needed to leave the country and come back in that stamp was proof of being a 'legal permanent resident' .

I asked if he needed any pictures, and he said no. I was a bit disappointed he didn't look at one piece of my evidence (not even marriage licence!) as it took me 2 weeks to put the whole binder together!

Thanks again!!!!
