The biggest annoyance in the entire visa process thus far is getting the medical appointment -- There seems to be only ONE physician in all of Germany (in Frankfurt). Call the Frankfurt physician IMMEDIATLY once you receive the interview appointment. I called twice -- on my first call I hesitated with the available options because they were all bad for my schedule. I called back ten minutes later and all those options were GONE. I'm now stuck with a worst possible third option, but there is no alternative before the interview.

Our I-130 got approved yesterday (after three weeks).

We completed the DS260 yesterday and will send the remaining documents today.

So far, the process as been ever so smoothly and QUICKLY. What a difference to the USCIS/NVC process.

Just received my interview date for the end of March. Since we filed Packet 3 just last Wednesday I did not expect it to be that fast, but we'll take it. ^^

There is just one confussion: in the confirmation letter the consulate tells us to show proof of the petitioner's employment in the US on the day of the visa interview. Having lived abroad for a few years she obviously does not have a job in the US. So we will ask them about that.

My visa was also issued today, taking 10 weeks from start-to-finish!

First, about the interview at the Frankfurt Consulate: Come early, about 45 min before your appointment. Leave all electronics in your car. First queue at the entrance to the left to get a waiting number. Then queue at the security guard to the right to confirm that you don't have any electronics. Then queue at the security check entrance. Once you're inside queue for the cashiers' booth 22. You'll pay 325USD (or 277EUR on that day -- which was 5EUR more than the exchange rate), also they don't take EC/Giro cards!

After that you'll be called upon twice, either by number OR by name, so don't rely on the monitors, it might happen that your number isn't shown! First time is basic personal information check, if address is current etc. Second time is the interview with the consular officer. You'll first be sworn in, then you'll be asked questions depending on your case. All in the all, the entire process from entering the Consulate to leaving took about 90 minutes.

On CEAC (https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV), your status will be 'REFUSED' and stay so, even after the interview. Don't be alarmed, this is standard. Once your medical comes in, it will move into 'ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING'. A few hours later it will be 'ISSUED'.

Thanks for the journey everyone, see you in 2 years for removing conditions on the CR1. Congrats to everyone else who also got theirs!

Congrats everyone on completing this stressful journey. Did you receive your original paperwork back that same day? Nd did you bring the ds260 confirmation page with you?

I think I brought it but I don’t think it was needed.
Also, I got all my original paperwork back at the end of the Interview. However, you need to leave your passport there so they can put the provisional visa in there. I will have my passport delivered tomorrow (i.e. a week later).
