Have you heard of the AILA? https://www.aila.org/advo-media/issues/all/covid-19

While I applaud your efforts you must realize that your voice is a drop in the ocean. If it gives you purpose during these difficult times then by all means continue doing what you are doing. I hate to be coming across as a naysayer or negative Nancy because yes, change does start with one person but lets be realistic- your letter or campaign is not going to be the deciding factor that starts the reform needed. IMO it would be much more impactful for you to find an established group that is already campaigning such to join in with get on board to promote your message. You can also contact the Ombudsman as they handle issues with how policy is being enforced (AILA has various liaison interactions with them as well as USCIS/DOS/CPB/etc - browse their website and/or google)

Thanks, this is the kind of information I was looking for when I originally started the thread.

Well after all this, I finally got the petition finished and posted!  I don't know if it will help, but it can't hurt:  https://www.change.org/JasonAle_together
Everyone feel free to sign and share.  I really feel like there's no general public awareness of this problem and the more eyes get on it, it can only help us.  Everyone I talk to is shocked to hear that the legal immigration system is in such shambles because there's zero media coverage of it.  Thanks again for everyone's input!

Very true. The talking head robots in the media propaganda machine only talk about illegal immigration and how important it is for for everything to go smoothly for them. Making things less torturous for spouses of USCs is way too commonsensical for them to discuss.

Most Americans I talk to are shocked to hear that “you don’t become an American citizen when you marry an American?!”.

Update:  the petition is over 300 signatures now.  I have attempted to contact the White House and DOS, with no replies.  I wrote to the AILA today, asking them to help in any way they can.  I am continuing to aggressively promote the petition, and I still believe that more signatures are critical to getting the matter the attention that it deserves.  Anyone who takes a few seconds to sign or share this petition is helping all of us!  If you put that link on your Facebook or Twitter, tag a couple people, or even just send one email, that is huge.  It's an exponential function.

Going forward, I will continue pestering politicians and promoting the petition on social media for more signatures.  I'm going to look more into other forms of exposure, such as conventional media and other forms of social media.  Let's keep momentum!
