Hi!

My boyfriend and I are filing a K-1 visa and an Adjustment of Status soon, but he will be needing to go on shore duty during the visa to green card process as he is in the Navy.

If he ends up going to Japan or a country outside US owned territories, would my visa no longer be valid?

Wondering if there's something else I can file or if my visa will be okay, thanks!

I will say first that the process will be much easier once he is on shore duty!  I am active duty Navy myself.

As far as the expedite, I have a template that I can send to you via person email, just go ahead and message me that.

Even if you were to get the expedite, if you're not on his orders, the government will not gave you travel with him.  You can travel afterwards under your own expense.

That just won't help OP if he gets overseas orders. Then it will be just more of a hassle. He would have to get leave in time to come to the US, get married and then she would sit here waiting for the AOS procedure to get done just to join him on their own expenses overseas dealing with re- entry permits cause she won't be on his orders and can't stay out of the US for a longer time without getting in trouble.

Get the ball rolling now if you want to have a chance for this timeline to work out.

We both can't afford that at all haha, I have nowhere to stay in the US if he were to leave for shore duty and I wasn't on his orders, I have to go with him or I wont be able to stay and get my LPR.

Would it be possible to expedite my I-129F and my AOS? I feel like the process would be super fast if I could do so under 'humanitarian reasons', meaning I'd be homeless and have nowhere to stay.

And, that sounds great! I'll send you my email ASAP! Thanks so much!

I was kind of puzzled when you mentioned traveling back to U.S. to get married.  I was thinking (they're applying for AOS, they're already married)  but then I carefully read the beginning of the thread again.  I totally missed the K-1 part in there.
