EB2 AOS without interview - will SSN cards be mailed aromatically if EAD step was skipped?

Hi,

We just received our green cards approximately 6 months after submission without interview.

Since the AOS timelines were shorter than EAD timelines, we received green cards directly.

The question is if SSN cards will come by mail aromatically?

(SSA offices are closed due to pandemic)

Nothing will automatically happen. Since you did EB2/AOS, I assume that you came to the US with a dual-intend visa (H1B, O1, L1, etc) and already have SS number. You will have to fill out SS-5 and mail or fax it to a local SSA office with photocopies of current SSN card and green card (front & back). Enclose a note saying that you are updating your immigration status (non-immigrant to LPR) and requesting a replacement of your SSN card.

Thank you! The instructions to the form say that only original document will be accepted... Do you know if a regular copy of GC will be sufficient?

My spouse doesn’t have SSN yet, did anyone managed to receive it my mail?

For first time SSC, they need to do it in person. You will have to call them and convince them to give her an appointment.
