It mystifies me why everyone doesn't realize this.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Has anyone heard about float therapy, or float pods? I'm wondering about it....there are a couple here, one offers the sensory deprecation tank (which sounds a little unnerving), and others have more of a room you can go in, which sounds more appealing to me. Has anyone tried it?

Know this was an old question but the husband and I did this a few years back.

It can be extremely relaxing but also a little anxiety inducing because you don't know what time it is, or how long you've been in the pod.

I found the smaller one fine but my husband is over 6ft so his pod felt cramped to him.

The one we went to had the option of switching the light on and off (sensory deprivation)... but I messed up and switched on the light and didn't know how to switch it off again.

I'm not sure of the order but I think we got a massage after the isolation tank. And the massage was good.

Oh interesting! Still haven't tried it yet, I was worried about the anxiety aspect you mentioned. I'm considering maybe just opting for a more traditional spa with baths/pools instead. In Japan they have amazing ones (onsen), here not so much. There are options but I was waiting for the Covid mask mandates to be lifted. Now that it is finally over, I will start looking around.

You can come visit in the summer go out to the pool and float. The stars are nice and it is pretty relaxing.

I was going to write a post about how I prefer floating in the pool/ swimming at night over the flotation tank but deleted that response. 😅

I like saunas but they can get too hot...

And here in FL I'm doing that almost every night now.

I have solar pool heating and it's been on a while, but the pool seemed way too warm last week.  Checked and the pool was 90.  Decided to cut off the solar for a while.  86 to 88 is perfect.

My wife says it feels like swimming in pee.  She likes it much cooler.  Darn Russians.

My pool is not up yet. My older 4 Canadian born would have put it up already. They liked it cold too, used to swimming in Lake superior and another spring fed lake. They pretty much never get warm.

Since I clean the darn thing I wait until the tassels off the big oak tree is done falling. I swear every one of those tassels finds it's way into the pool.

If we had heating for the pool the little ones would make me put it up too. They are already bugging me but too darn cold at night. That sucker will never warm up for me. It's not as nice as a nice in ground pool but it is 22x52 so a decent size to warm up.

22x52?  That's freaking huge!  Ours is just 15x30, but it's covered and enclosed by screen.  No bugs and no leaves, pine needles, or tassels.  We have oaks and pines very close.

It was a "cool" weekend and the pool temp dropped to 78.  Too cold for me.  Turned the solar back on this morning and tonight it's back up to 82 or 83.  Should be perfect tomorrow evening.  Not going to complain.  I was in upstate NY over the weekend and Sunday morning it was 37 when I was leaving.

We wanted the 24x52 but they didn't have them in stock when we went to pick it up. We're a family of 8 so we wanted a nice one. Now we are don't to 5 at home but the older ones come home to play in it still. I'm happy we have it. I don't think I could live without a pool in Arkansas, the lakes are a bit further then where we use to live.

I would love for  the pool to be screened in and heated we may be in it year round then lol

Funny, but we live 5 or 6 miles from the Gulf Beaches, but why go and get all sandy and salty when you can jump right into the water in your own back yard.  In our case the pool is really par of the house.

If that weren't enough, we have a vacation home on the water in the Keys.  We will be there this weekend getting salty.

I've never been in the ocean, I would loved to one day.

I miss the clean beautiful lakes we were surrounded with in Canada, not even 10 mins to walk to one. Here it's a minimum of 45 minutes to find a lake. We love our pool though, so much easier then having to pack things up load up the truck then haul it all back later.

Since we homeschool, there is nothing like soaking in the pool when we want.

Ha.  We are in the next phase of life...playing in the pool with grandchildren.

Happy times, yet a little sad if we dwell on the fact we are getting older.  Not feeling old yet, and we are still working, but it's rapidly approaching.
