Getting married in Russia: Step by step guide

hello, so i am a american/belarusian citizen, and i want to marry a russian citizen, would me being a dual citizen make the process easier?

and im considering just getting married in a third country (mexico) because i did not know about the apostille, and don't want to go back to the us (too expensive)

any recommendations on third country? or maybe i can get married as a belarusian and that would still be considered as my wife under US law? any help will be appreciated, proposing this week

Honestly, I would consider going the Utah remote ceremony wedding if that's an option for you both. I just did it recently, it was very easy to set up (more important for me) and relatively inexpensive (less important to me, but I can understand that it's a bonus when compared to doing third-country wedding.) The major thing you need to make sure though, is that either during or at some point after the wedding ceremony, you and your wife can prove that you were together, before applying for the I-130.

 

Additionally, Utah can generate a certified copy and apostille and send it to any country you need (except Russia, because none of the main mail companies are sending to Russia currently.) 

 

I guess you're other option you mentioned if to get married in Belarus as you mentioned, that would work fine too.

Update: the US embassy in Moscow has resumed US Citizen Services, thus getting married in Russia is fairly doable once more:
