I had previously sent out forms requesting the tax return transcript for 2016 and the tax return, and the latter apparently takes 75 calendar days to process. I can’t remember when I sent it, but if I don’t get it by then, I hope it doesn’t become an issue during the interview.

I tried ordering a tax return transcript through the phone, but the automated system said they were only available for 2017-2020. What a mess lol.

Yeah, it's annoying. I print them off pretty much every year, just in case. Hoping that you get yours sooner than that!

Also it says this on my notice:

”You MUST BRING the following with you to the interview:
• This letter.
• Your Alien Registration Card ("green card").
• Any evidence of Selective Service Registration.
• Your passport and/or any other documents you used in connection with any entries into the United States.”

The notice says nothing about bringing my tax returns for the past five years, which I’ve been told could be important. Should I bring those anyway? Like I said I’m not the spouse of a US citizen but I’ve been told it’s still important. The problem is that I’ve been trying to get my 2016 return transcript from the IRS to no avail. I mailed them the necessary forms a couple of time but got nothing. And now I only have about a month until the interview.

I know it’s off-topic so apologies for the side track.

Mabruk on your interview!!! I'd say take whatever they asked you for and whatever else you can bring, they don't limit the entry to the amount of your paperwork, so better safe... Mabruk again!

Allah yibarik feek 🥳 Yeah I’ll bring everything plus the kitchen sink lol. I just hope they don’t get hung up on the 2016 tax returns if I don’t get it in time.

They literally didn't ask to see any of the documents I brought. Only my green card.

I brought 4 years of tax transcripts from the IRS website and then 2016 tax return.

Better to be safe than sorry, but I just thought I'd share that for peace of mind.

Indeed. I brought all documents I uploaded when I filed online plus some military orders just in case. My husband is still deployed and I wanted to be ready for questions like „why isn’t your husband waiting for you outside“ lol. But my officer literally didn’t care. He was super nice, immediately broke some ice doing lame jokes😂 started off with civic and English test and then general questions. Then we sat there chatting about his experience as a border patrol officer. That was cool to hear although tmi and I wanted to gtfo ASAP 😂 My document were ignored the whole time I was inside USCIS building

Hey on the notice it says I must bring originals. On the date of interview all documents were photocopies. I was stressing myself about it but like we are all saying, they don’t care for it. Besides, if your SSN does not show any missed taxes, they already know you have been a good resident. Worst case scenario you just explain them what happened IF they will even mention it.

Hey all QQ on the civics test, When we have questions where there are more than one answers and they DO NOT say answer one or two, what do we do? Do we have to say all?

For Example:

What does the judicial branch do?
▪ reviews laws
▪ explains laws
▪ resolves disputes (disagreements)
▪ decides if a law goes against the Constitution

I personally assumed that one answer would be enough but I could be wrong.

Thanks for sharing that. I didn't realize they could ask you to define terms.

And I was always thrown off by the Nazi Germany question. Most of us weren't even alive then!

When I got my green card I was already 26 and didn't have to register for the selective service. Do I have to bring anything still regarding that to the interview?

Nope, if you were fully 26, you don't need to have anything else, because the day of you becoming a LPR is on your GC
