Anyone know if DOS Case ID is the same thing as the case number (aka I-551 Number which is on the back of the permanent resident card)? It asks for DOS Case ID while trying to verify the online account before filing for N-400.

Thanks!

Guys new update on my post earlier. Today was my interview and like I said my wife tested positive for covid but I’m negative and vaccinated. I could not find a phone number for the location so I took the test and brought a spare just in case. So I got there on time and surprise surprise, no temp check, no one ask me any of the covid questions. So I hearses in and my interview started half an hour late. I was a nervous wreck. I pray you all have someone like the one who interview me. He didn’t ask for extra documents outside the usual. I did two interviews simultaneously. I don’t know why since my roc application still says finger prints where applied to my case. They were all smooth. Asked six questions which I believe I got them all right. I could not get a decision on my case with the reason that my roc file is still in Minneapolis which he doesn’t have. Now that really scares me. Thank you all for your input. Please send anymore comments and suggestions my way.

Hey Shkabaan, the only people that have that DOS are people that were approved for their first green card at the embassies over the world, if you adjusted your status in the US, so you don't have that number

Hey! Dot be scared, it it totally normal that sometimes they don't give you a straightforward approval, just wait a few days and you'll get an update

You are welcome, I also adjusted my status here in the US, so when I was trying to locate that number and wasn't able, I called them and they explained to me how it works

Congratulations! The maximum amount of days between the scheduling and the interview itself is 50 days for N400, 40 days for adjustment of status, congratulations again!

Thank you. Looks like they really followed rules this time 😂. Good Luck for your case!

I need to trade in my NY drivers license to a CA one as I moved here last year, and was wondering if it would be a bad idea to do that before my upcoming interview on 6/22?

Does it matter what kind of ID you bring, and is it risky to do that now in case they take away my NY license while issuing the CA one? Just curious on what you guys would do!

When you moved to California, did you change your address with USCIS? Did they send you an interview letter to thevCA address?

Yep! Address updated everywhere, except my license. Since I don't drive I don't use it for anything other than ID.

Well, you're good then, what I'm suggesting you to do is to bring with you a lease agreement, and a few utility bills, so you can prove your residency since a part of citizenship eligibility involves spending at least 3 months in a certain state or in a uscis service district, so when you have a current state ID they just look at the date of issue and then can understand that you've been in the same state enough time, but in your case your NY license will not play a good favor, so grab a few evidence that are showing that you spend more than three month in California, good luck to you!!!

Did they interview you for ROC without the presence of your wife?

Yes they did. Didn’t ask of my wife or anything. About five questions on our relationship. They weren’t any complicated questions. When we got married, her previous relationships, my stepdaughter.
